There are a handful of parents who wouldn’t go to great lengths for their child, particularly when that child is as delightful as young Rowan.
Rowan is a 7-and-a-half-year-old lad from Indianola, Washington, who researched the Corgi breed for a school assignment and became smitten with these canines.
Being the wonderful child he is, Rowan decided to compose a highly persuasive (and articulate) letter to his father, Gabe, requesting a Corgi puppy named Pumpkin.
Spoiler alert – Rowan’s wish was fulfilled!
Pretty Please, May I Have A Corgi Puppy?
“In my honest view, I believe I am prepared for a lively Corgi puppy,” Rowan wrote at the onset of his letter.
Can you imagine that this exceptionally well-written, sincere, courteous, and entirely heartwarming letter was crafted by a seven-year-old child?
Gabe, Rowan’s father, expressed that “Rowan is a very remarkable kid” and simply reading this letter illustrates why.
Upon reading this letter, Gabe’s heart softened, and he instantly recognized that he must adopt a little Corgi puppy to make Rowan’s aspiration a reality.
Consequently, he reached out to Pacific Rim Rescue, located in the Greater Seattle – Western Washington region.
They rescue dogs and puppies from dire circumstances across the USA, and a small 8-week-old Corgi puppy had just been rescued from a Midwest breeder.
Rowan had no clue that he was on the verge of receiving the greatest gift ever.
Gabe collected little Pumpkin from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and went to astonish his dear son. The way he reacted upon encountering his dream dog is indescribable.
Dreams Do Materialize
Rowan simply couldn’t grasp what he was witnessing – a puppy?! A Corgi puppy?! Just for him?!
“Thank you, Daddy” was the very first thing that escaped Rowan’s lips while tenderly cradling his new puppy, Pumpkin.
“I was NOT anticipating this. We just received a video game!” Rowan exclaimed, still in disbelief that his aspiration had actually materialized.
“This is the greatest day of my life, and this is the finest gift I’ve ever received.”

From the instant Rowan received Pumpkin, it was love at first sight. He swiftly demonstrated that everything he vowed in the letter was indeed true.
“He is such a kind, generous, and considerate child. Observing Rowan embrace the responsibilities he promised in his letter has been delightful,” Rowan’s father shared with The Dodo. “This puppy has brought so much happiness to both Rowan and me. We feel incredibly lucky to have Pumpkin as the latest addition to our family.”
Pumpkin is an exceptionally joyful and cherished canine that adores playing, running, and adventuring in the woods.
Rowan and Pumpkin are the closest of companions and will hopefully remain so for many years ahead. It’s perfectly fine to dream because sometimes those dreams come true unexpectedly.
