Upon hearing the sound of what appeared to be a puppy barking, the villagers hurried to assist the animal, believing it might be in distress. The first sight that greeted them was a group of homeless dogs and a small infant who was fleeing from them.

As soon as they focused on the little creature that was barking, they understood that he was not a puppy at all. In fact, he was a muntjac deer who had strayed from a nearby woodland.

Contacting Wildlife Rescue

The worried community contacted WFFT, a wildlife rescue organization, requesting their assistance.

The rescuers promptly arrived and transported the precious baby deer to the wildlife facility. Since his arrival, he has captured the admiration of the hospital personnel.

The veterinarians assessed that he was merely a few days old. They speculated that he had wandered off from his mother. After encountering street dogs, he barked out of a sense of peril.

Muntjac deer are recognized for their barking when they are near threats. The adorable baby, named Cha Lao, would not have survived much longer on his own. He was too frail and tiny.

Giving Him Essential Care

While at the facility, Cha Lao underwent a comprehensive medical assessment and received the specialized attention that was crucial for his survival.

The team wrapped him in a blanket, providing the sweet baby with a sense of security. They nourished him with a bottle. Once he finished his bottle, Cha Lao would always lick his lips. His caretakers were pleased to observe that he relished drinking warm milk.

Cha Lao felt considerably more at ease, and the hospital staff took delight in spoiling him with affection. The charming baby enjoyed strolling around the hospital, happily discovering his environment. Initially, his legs were shaky, and he needed to build his strength.

WFFT reported that the courageous baby deer continues to thrive under their care. They are thrilled with the advancements he has made thus far and are confident that he will soon fully recover.

They intend to return Cha Lao to the wild once they ascertain that he has regained sufficient strength and is prepared. They will meticulously select a location where he won’t be endangered by humans.

We are pleased that the lovely deer was rescued promptly and is now in capable hands.
