Nonetheless, some dogs may require our support. Sara Elliot exemplifies this when she demonstrated compassion by adopting the blind rescue dog, Sherman, to nurture.
Yet, she was uncertain how her other dog would respond upon realizing that Sherman was different from the rest.
Luckily, she found herself genuinely astonished.
Two Dogs Demonstrate That Differences Are Merely an Illusion
In June, she brought Sherman to her home, while her other dog, named Wicket, eagerly anticipated their meeting. Despite the joy of having a playmate, this one-and-a-half-year-old boxer instilled some doubt in Sarah.
That was until she observed the most endearing moment between the two canines. Moved by the sight, she decided to capture this moment and shared it as a TikTok Video.
Her viewers were astonished and genuinely moved by the clip, showcasing Sherman and Wicket engaging with a plush toy, where Wicket displayed exceptional kindness towards her visually impaired companion.
Specifically, Wicket comprehended the situation so well that she placed the toy in front of Sherman for him to sniff before both dogs tugged at it from their respective ends.
“Wicket exhibited immense patience with him, particularly when Sherman lost his hold on the toy and Wicket paused for him to regain it,” Sarah reminisces.

A Large Joyful Family Filled With Kindness
Elliot expressed that Wicket was brimming with empathy and so persuasive that she even encouraged Sherman to hop onto the couch so they could engage in play there.
This was certainly necessary since Sherman, weighing nearly 100 pounds, would crash into walls and furniture, potentially hurting himself.
“It’s as if she supported him,” Elliot remarks. “Their play adapted to accommodate his disability, which truly moved me to tears.”
However, this remarkable duo isn’t the sole members of this joyful household. An older feline named Toby and two kittens, Pork and Beans, seamlessly integrate into this family of pets.
They also do not struggle with Sherman’s disability, instead demonstrating patience and kindness towards him as well.
Whenever the opportunity arises, they all engage in play and frequently relish each other’s company.
A Visually Impaired Dog Brought Joy to the Household
The narrative preceding this poignant moment is just as heartwarming. Specifically, Elliot previously owned a 9-year-old dog named Luna, who passed earlier this year after a cancer diagnosis. Wicket had lived alongside Luna and had never experienced solitude.
Due to that loss, she encountered mild anxiety and desperately longed for a companion to uplift her gloomy days.
Sherman proved to be the perfect friend for her, allowing her to care and share affection simultaneously.
“They appear incredibly close,” Sarah commented. “They snuggle, play constantly, and seem utterly comfortable with one another. They have established their own little rhythm. It’s truly special. They complement each other splendidly.”
