There are a handful of individuals who dislike surprises. Be it something as straightforward as chocolate or something pricier like a smartphone, that sensation is truly delightful.
At times, certain individuals feel no need for any occasion to surprise a loved one, other than to perform a kind act. This is precisely what one woman accomplished upon returning from a holiday in Florida with her spouse.
Although she visited the supermarket, this woman came back with something far more significant than groceries, which completely astounded her husband.
Overcrowded Shelter
As soon as Elaine Buhs and her partner arrived back at their residence in Des Moines, Iowa, she made her way to the supermarket to purchase some necessities.
Indeed, she acquired those items, but en route home, she made a stop at the Animal Rescue League Of Iowa, a shelter where she volunteered.
At that moment, she realized that the shelter was excessively full, and since she was in high spirits, she opted to take action.
Upon returning to the vehicle, there were bread, milk, and other provisions on the front seat, and Buddy, a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix, in the back.
Since Eliane is a content creator as well as a shelter volunteer, she documented her experience on TikTok through her account, @dog_momdsm.
“Our shelter is getting overcrowded with dogs so I decided to pick up a foster. Four beautiful dogs came in under socialized. One got adopted, one went to foster right away. There were two left so I took this nervous nelly. I’m gonna lay by him all night and see how it goes❤️❤️❤️” Elaine noted in the video’s description.
TikTok users expressed their enjoyment, leading to numerous affirmative remarks.

A Big Furry Surprise
When Elaine entered the shelter, she was seeking a small puppy or one weary from the shelter atmosphere.
The staff and volunteers promptly recommended a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix that undoubtedly required a respite. Before she laid eyes on him, Elaine pictured him as an adorable little dog who could fit comfortably in her palm.
She was taken aback when she realized that this puppy was actually just shy of being the size of a small horse. Besides his large stature, he was entirely undersocialized as he had come from a farm where he was part of an unwanted litter.
Upon arriving home, Buddy was so anxious that Elaine couldn’t bring him inside the house.
Then, she contacted her husband for assistance, and he, under the impression that she was summoning him to help her with the groceries, hurried to her side.
He was stunned when he discovered her grappling with a gigantic dog, and even more astonished to learn that it was a puppy. Nevertheless, despite the challenges, they eventually succeeded in bringing Buddy into their home.
Initially, he merely cowered under tables, avoiding people, but after some time, he calmed down a bit and began acclimating to his new environment. This large furry surprise will remain in his temporary abode until he conquers his apprehension.
Although he was not the most pleasant surprise for Elaine’s husband, this man eventually warmed up to him, and he was also glad that Buddy’s presence in their home represented a genuinely good act.
