Tia and Koda are not ordinary German Shepherd puppies! The tale of these siblings begins on a troubling note considering the situation in which they were discovered.
The six-week-old GSD puppies had been discarded in a box and concealed within the bushes of a nearby park. A curious passerby stumbled upon the young sister and brother, who were curled up closely together, and instantly took action!
Tia And Koda, The Discarded Siblings
Upon first encountering Tia and Koda in the park, the man observed they were immensely scared, frigid, and required immediate veterinary care.
He couldn’t abandon them in the park, knowing they would surely perish without assistance. Thus, he opted to take them to the B.C. SPCA, where the puppies received their initial treatment. Eventually, both GSD puppies were transferred to the SPCA’s Richmond center.
Regrettably, the puppies were significantly neglected and lacking in socialization, but the most pressing issue was that Tia, the young female, faced a multitude of health concerns.
Tia Requires Assistance
Koda was discovered in far better circumstances compared to Tia. This little girl had suffered a significant injury to her front leg, but that wasn’t the end of it! Besides her wound, she was battling an ongoing infection stemming from the injury, in addition to facing gastrointestinal issues.
As reported by CTV News, the SPCA is presently requesting donations for Tia, as she requires significant medical attention. Krista, the SPCA manager in Richmond, indicates that the expenses for the puppy’s treatment are estimated at $6500.
Fortunately, Petsecure will cover half of these expenses, which will ease the financial burden in seeking assistance. Tia remains under evaluation, even though a family already aware of her condition is eager to adopt her.
On The Path To A Forever Home
In spite of Tia’s persistent health complications, both she and her brother are thriving in terms of socialization.
They have started to lower their defenses and engage with the caring individuals at the SPCA. After enduring such hardships, the two finally have the opportunity to experience what it means to be a cherished, nurtured puppy.
The unfortunate news is that just a few days later, Tia and Koda were separated. He was adopted by his loving foster family! At that moment, Tia wasn’t able to join her foster home, as she remained in care for further medical attention.
Although she still cannot transition to her forever home, her soon-to-be owners are eagerly counting down the days until she recovers! They are determined to welcome this beautiful little girl into her forever home! And, she truly deserves it!
