You may have experienced a moment where a menacing-looking dog walked by and sent shivers down your spine. This is, in fact, a common response and often warranted, as certain dogs can indeed pose a significant threat.
Regrettably, there are breeds that are frequently unfairly associated with such notions. Consequently, it is not unusual to hear an older individual urgently advising their offspring to step aside as a Bull Dog or a Rottweiler approaches.
While these breeds can occasionally be hazardous, more often than not, the reality is strikingly different.
It is accurate that many individuals prefer to adhere to prevailing opinions; however, today’s narrative of two Rottweilers that dispel these stereotypes redefines the conversation entirely.
Emma, A Personification Of Affection
When Mits Nishikawa and his partner, Sammi, welcomed Emma the dog into their lives, they were unsure whether they had made the right choice. Their concerns were heightened by her initial puppy blues, which were considerable upon her arrival.
Furthermore, the fact that she was a Rottweiler only amplified their apprehensions, given the breed’s notorious reputation. However, Emma’s overwhelming gentleness and cheerful spirit soon proved that there was no cause for alarm.
Soon after, these two new dog enthusiasts realized that they could not envision life without Emma. They dedicated all their leisure time to her—feeding her, conversing with her, engaging in playful activities, cradling her in their arms, and especially showering her with affection.
“She pretty much constantly begs for attention,” Mits shared with Cuddle Buddies. “She is exceptionally well-socialized, and above all, I believe she is extraordinarily vocal.”
Regrettably, not everyone had the opportunity to witness Emma in this light, leading many to still perceive her as a highly threatening dog to be avoided. Nevertheless, Mits and Sammi made every effort to demonstrate that this was far from the truth.
“We visit this specific dog park daily,” Sammi recounted. “One day, a small golden retriever puppy dashed toward Emma, and they began to play together.”
“And then people witnessed how gentle Emma can truly be,” Mits joyfully added. “Now, they encounter each other probably five or six times a week.”
Mits also mentioned that they nibbled on each other, engaged in playful wrestling, and then enjoyed long naps together. However, he found it most endearing that they always seem to hold paws or touch noses.
Mits and Sammi take immense pleasure in Emma’s companionship, along with the affectionate bond she shares with the charming Golden Retriever, Finn. However, what brings them the most joy is the fact that the followers who keep up with Emma on her Instagram account find joy in it too.
“We aspire to genuinely reshape the perception of Rottweilers,” Mits expressed. “They are exceptionally loving.”
Xena, Confirmation Of The Above
Emma is not merely a unique instance; the tale of another Rottweiler named Xena confirms this. Similar to the Nishikawa family, Leroy Mnguni and his fiancée felt anxious when they initially brought Xena into their home, uncertain of how she would acclimate.
Their primary concern was her interaction with one child who had a phobia of dogs. However, it was this very encounter that alleviated all their concerns and apprehensions.
