Certain tales simply inspire you to believe that wonders can occur!
When Keiko, the rescued Pittie, was initially welcomed into a caring household, he permanently departed from his littermates. All puppies from his brood were destined to be sold as combat dogs, and Tawny, Keiko’s new owner, simply couldn’t bear the thought of that fate.
Since she and her spouse already shared their home with two dogs, the law permitted her to adopt just one more canine, and that canine was Keiko! However, not even five months later, something extraordinary took place!
From Combat Canines To Forever Homes
At that moment, Tawny and her family were eager to adopt at least one more dog from Keiko’s litter, but their community in California permitted a maximum of three dogs per household.
“I desperately wished to adopt Keiko and his sibling Niko. But we did what we were able to and took Keiko home,” Tawny shared with The Dodo.
In due course, all of Keiko’s siblings found their way to new homes.
Keiko entered his new home as a frail, ill puppy. He required someone to help him flourish, and that someone was Tawny! She took every measure to assist this charming black and white Pittie to develop into a healthy canine. And, in merely months – Keiko evolved into one!
He thrived with his new family, and in no time – he became the darling of everyone! Keiko adapted to living in a household, and he thoroughly adored everything about his new family.
Five months passed, and Tawny’s eldest dog sadly passed away. The family was heartbroken, and so were the other dogs. Then, just a few days later, she randomly scrolled through her phone, only to spot a familiar face. It was Niko, Keiko’s brother from the litter!
The following morning, Tawny discovered that the family who previously adopted Niko did not treat him kindly. Consequently, they returned him.
Tawny didn’t waste any time and instantly took action. She and her spouse hopped into a vehicle and, without a second thought, raced to retrieve Niko!
Upon their first encounter, Niko was incredibly adorable, yet at the same time – extremely shy. He was unfamiliar with home etiquette and certainly lacked any socialization experience. If anyone approached him – he would immediately flinch.
But then – Keiko took charge!
The moment they brought Niko to their Californian residence – the two long-lost brothers brightened up!
“He didn’t recognize any commands. But the one thing he was aware of was his brother, Keiko. The instant we brought Niko into our home, both siblings radiated joy,” says Tawny.
They were overjoyed to finally reunite. After months apart, Keiko and Niko recognized each other – and their joy was unmistakable!
