Maple, the charming Pittie female, has been battling for her survival since she was discovered beneath a bridge in California. With significant injuries and gashes, she had little faith that someone would offer her a chance, but one day, everything shifted!

Maple’s Path to Healing
Zach Skow, from Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue, located in Tehachapi, California, instantly fell for Maple! This unfortunate Pittie bore intense injuries across her body and was entirely bandaged up, yet her eyes glistened whenever anyone interacted with her.
“The first thing that caught my eye was her eagerness for human affection. She desired closeness with people,” Zach remarked to The Dodo.
This kind-hearted dog rescuer resolved to provide Maple a chance. His initial plan was to take her to his ranch for additional recovery, and that’s when he received a call from Randi – a dedicated dog foster and enthusiast who readily agreed to care for her.
Randi provided round-the-clock care for Maple. They routinely visited the veterinarian to update her bandages. Before long, Maple grew fond of Randi, and she emerged from her shell completely. For the first time in ages, she began to trust again!
One day, she exited the vet with the most delightful wrap ever! Instead of her usual bandages, Maple was adorned with a custom, butterfly-themed outfit along with little hearts atop her bandaging.
“She walked out so confidently, her head held high instead of drooping, and her tail was wagging,” Randi shared with The Dodo.
The transformation she exhibited that day was remarkable! She immediately appeared to be an entirely new dog, transitioning from a “poor baby” to a “stylish girl.”
Zach was truly enamored with Maple’s new appearance! She seemed so sweet and spirited that it felt as if she was ready to take off – like a stunning butterfly!
Journey to a Forever Home
Rocky Kanaka, an animal enthusiast who assists shelter dogs in sharing their stories for visibility, also played a role in Maple’s incredible journey! He collaborated with Zach and the team to narrate Maple’s story on his show to help her secure a forever home.
“It’s astonishing to consider she was under a bridge with no prospects and now she’s on a Hollywood studio lot in front of the American Dream home,” Rocky expressed on his Facebook.
Before long, this marvelous Pittie encountered Justine – a woman from Reno, Nevada, who welcomed her into a forever home.
Maple has now fully recovered and no longer requires bandages, but her butterfly outfit will definitely be remembered as the moment she embarked on her journey to complete recovery.
She relishes her life immensely with her fellow dog siblings, embarking on new escapades each day!
Once an injured dog without any hope in this world, Maple is now a completely transformed girl, all due to the kindness of others!
