When life hands you lemons, create lemonade! This has been the guiding principle Lara has embraced throughout her life.
Even after losing her eyesight entirely, she never ceased to be exuberant about her surroundings. She welcomed everything and everyone in her vicinity with her paws wide open.
Regrettably, she was returned by her adoptive families on two occasions within a brief timeframe. However, that did not extinguish her hope that eventually, someone would recognize her true brilliance.
And, as fate would have it, that special someone turned out to be her foster dad!
I Recall You, Dad
Brian and Alex, long-time foster caregivers with Priceless Pets Rescue, in California, provided Lara with a temporary abode before she commenced her journey to a forever home. At that point, she was suffering from a severe infection, which led to the unfortunate loss of both her eyes.
As a special-needs pooch, Lara encountered challenges in adapting to new situations. She was timid and introverted, clearly needing time to adjust to a different setting.
Fortunately, within just a few weeks, she opened up to her new family and evolved into the most affectionate lovebug!
From then on, she faced two failed adoptions, leading to her being returned to the shelter – once again! Upon hearing about her unfortunate circumstances, Brian quickly took action.
He and Alex resolved to provide their sweet foster with a permanent home without a second thought.
“We fostered Lara for several months. Following two unsuccessful adoptions, she became a lasting part of the family,” her parents shared on Instagram.
