When the compassionate individuals in a Southern California community initially discovered Delta, they were completely astonished by what they encountered!
A dog, howling in dread, terrified of everything and everyone.
She was profoundly frightened by the approach of anyone in her so-called “sanctuary.” Yet, what she considered home was merely a massive heap of refuse and an aged car seat.
With no humane living conditions at all, Delta had no chance of surviving independently. She was doomed, and the decline of her spirit was only a matter of time. However, her rescuers were determined to change that – right away!
Delta Lived Her Life On The Edge
The kind-hearted rescuers who discovered Delta enduring incredibly dire conditions knew precisely whom to contact! They reached out to Suzette Hall of Logan’s Legacy, an experienced animal rescuer who committed her existence to rescuing furry beings in distress.
Upon receiving the notification, Hall promptly drove to the location and was utterly heartbroken.
“That old filthy couch served as her bed, and she rested there deep within an alley. Yet, all she truly craves is love,” Hall shared on her Facebook.
By her appearance, it was clear that Delta had been abandoned by her previous owner, left to survive in the alleyway. Furthermore, she was completely petrified of everything!
“She was terrified of everything. Even a leash would send her into screams. I can’t fathom the memories racing through her mind, but it was evident she longed for affection,” Hall recounted.
After numerous failed attempts to entice this frightened pup into a humane trap, Hall and her dedicated volunteers eventually succeeded! They placed Delta in the vehicle, and the rest, as it is often said, is history!
Here Comes The Surprise
The great news arrived from Camino Pet Hospital, located in Irvine, California. Apart from some minor skin and eye infections, Delta had no significant health concerns.
She required medicated baths and an abundance of tender loving care.
However, that was not the end… no!
Just when it appeared that this would conclude like a standard rescue, Delta revealed a remarkable surprise! She was expecting puppies!
Within just a few days, she welcomed into the world a pair of adorable pups – Chunky and Monkey. And, she could not be more joyful!
Alongside the individuals who assisted her in breaking free from her defenses and overcoming her past adversities, Delta evolved into the most affectionate caregiver.
Her maternal instincts kicked in, and before long, she was far from the distressed being she once was. Instead, she enveloped her little ones with love, behaving as if those prior days in the alley had never occurred.
From A Fearful Girl To A Happy Pup
Currently, Delta and her pups are in foster care, merely days away from being fully prepared to start a new life journey!
Thanks to Hall and Delta’s foster family, this formerly frightened pup has undergone a transformation into a vibrant new girl, and today, she radiates happiness!
“Delta’s frown has turned into a smile. Just look at how proud she is of her little family,” Hall remarked.
She is now eagerly anticipating the day she will finally meet the family who will offer her another opportunity at life. When the moment arrives, there’s no doubt that Delta will make a marvelous companion! All she needs is a touch of love, a warm home, and a human – this time, for an eternity!
