It shatters my heart to witness forsaken puppies on the streets. It pains me even more to realize that I can’t rescue them all.
Nonetheless, I find some solace in knowing there are compassionate individuals saving dogs every single day.
Step by step, we all have the ability to create a difference and transform the world into a better environment… not for ourselves, but for our furry friends.
No dog merits being lost or abandoned, let alone discarded on the street like mere rubbish.
Dolly, an adorable little GSD puppy, was one of those unfortunate canines. She was facing a life filled with despair that likely wouldn’t endure for long.
Fortunately, Dolly encountered a slice of hope. She gained a life. She obtained what she yearned for the most:
A family.
Thanks to the generous deeds of the Animal Rescue and the person behind it, Fahrudin Caki Bravo, dogs like Dolly will not find themselves at the end of the line. One by one, every unfortunate pup will end up joyful in a forever home.
What’s That Wiggling Down The Road?
Imagine this: it’s well beyond typical hours, and darkness envelops everything. You receive a call reporting a lost puppy in distress, wiggling along the perilous street.
What would your reaction be?
If you resemble Fahrudin Bravo in any way, you’d leap into your vehicle and head straight there to rescue the pup.
Bravo got a call stating there was an abandoned puppy on the road, looking shabby and sporting only a blue collar.
Upon arriving at the location, Bravo observed the puppy was a female, entirely covered in fleas. Her fur was not in good shape either, with visible hair loss in various spots.
The puppy exhibited no signs of apprehension and frolicked around Bravo, checking out the newcomer. She was affectionate and delighted that someone was acknowledging her. Judging by her collar, the little pup had definitely been ejected from a warm home, ill-treated by cruel individuals.
Bravo succeeded in picking her up and drove back home with her, pledging her a brighter future.
Thirty Days Later…
Bravo brought the puppy home, naming her Dolly.
She was eager for human affection and starved for both food and love.
Dolly swiftly adjusted to her new temporary residence. She relished Bravo’s attention and kept him company while he enjoyed his coffee.
The newly formed friends became inseparable in just a few days. Bravo cared for Dolly’s parasites and fleas, providing her the essential warmth and care.
A month later, Dolly received a new set of vaccinations and was feeling significantly better. It was time for her to venture to her new family.
With substantial support from Bravo and his companions, Dolly found a forever family waiting for her in the UK. This little girl was about to embark on a long journey from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the British Isles.
Dolly received a second opportunity. Dolly held her life in her own paws.
A Brave Man Called Caki
Fahrudin Caki Bravo, the rescuer of Dolly, is not an ordinary canine enthusiast.
This courageous individual is much more than merely a dog lover. He is a real-life hero deserving our admiration.
Born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Caki is a taxi driver who has devoted his entire existence to saving dogs in need. Yes… there is a plethora of dogs encountering dire situations in Bosnia.
Caki began rescuing dogs alongside his friends shortly after the Siege of Sarajevo and the Bosnian War. He noticed that stray dogs were vanishing from the streets of Sarajevo, and he understood precisely what was happening. He knew he had to take action to help them feel less at risk.
“… that’s when we commenced assisting them in every feasible manner, caring for them, adopting, and keeping them off the streets. I’m not affiliated with any animal rescue organization… I collaborate with other animal lovers as a volunteer. We strive to help as much as we are able. It does become challenging because I constantly feel I could contribute more. Regrettably, I am unable to be in several places simultaneously”, stated Fahrudin Caki Bravo.
Bravo’s benevolent actions seem to have no bounds. He even leaped into an icy river to save a drowning puppy.
We should all hope for Caki to lead a long and gratifying life doing what he loves most: rescuing dogs and providing them with the ultimate gift… the gift of life.
Bravo’s Instagram profile can be found here. You can extend your support by following him or even contributing to his PayPal. All received funds go directly to him and his canine companions, allowing him to continue caring for them.
