Upon spotting a small puppy tied to a kennel in the center of a highway, a compassionate lady and volunteer at Farm To Able, an animal sanctuary located in Blue Springs, Missouri, took immediate action.
She freed him and carried him to her vehicle.
The puppy, subsequently named Sullivan, was thankful to be saved by a kind-hearted individual.
The generous volunteer informed Animal Control about the situation.
After Sullivan’s five-day stray hold elapsed without anyone claiming him, he began looking for a home. The shelters were at capacity and unable to take him in.
In Search of a Forever Home
Sullivan’s savior discussed with Sheriee, the sanctuary’s founder, who consented to provide temporary care for him and assist in finding a permanent residence.
Upon arriving at the farm animal sanctuary, Sullivan began to explore his new surroundings.
He quickly bonded with pigs, chickens, cows, and horses.
The puppy was thankful to be at the sanctuary. He eagerly anticipated the new adventures that fate had planned for him.
While he relished his time in his temporary home, Sheriee was busy searching for a lasting home for him.
As she became more acquainted with the puppy, she was delighted with his character.
“He possesses a tranquility that’s very, very rare for a puppy,” Sheriee mentioned to Cuddle Buddies.
Sheriee started sharing videos of Sullivan with her son, James.
He had always dreamed of having a dog, and one day, Sheriee playfully suggested he should adopt Sully. She was ecstatic and astonished when her son agreed.
Sully’s Fairytale Ending
The moment James laid eyes on Sullivan, he immediately felt that this dog was meant for him.
“He mentioned that there was just something about it that led him to feel like it was, indeed, his dog,” Sheriee noted.
Sully sensed a strong bond with his new father, too. When James held him in his arms, Sullivan melted with affection.
Sheriee was certain that the two were meant to find each other. She was delighted as she knew Sully would find joy with her son.
“He will never need to worry if his human loves him or if he will return… He will forever be safe, cherished & loved beyond words,” Sheriee shared on Instagram.
After spending three weeks at the sanctuary, Sullivan relocated to Denver, Colorado, where he embarked on the most joyful chapter of his existence.
The charming puppy lives his life to the fullest. He enjoys hiking adventures with his dad and frolicking in the snow.
Thanks to the compassionate woman who saved him from the highway, the puppy was granted the opportunity to experience happiness and discover genuine love.
