What is that element, you ask? The response is straightforward. It’s hope. I realize it sounds simplistic, yet it continually astounds me how each time a dog is forsaken, it remains in the exact location where it was deserted.
These animals are perpetually anticipating their owners’ return.
This scenario is always tragic and heart-wrenching, particularly for the dog featured in this account, but we must remember that there are individuals in this world who assist dogs and aspire for them to lead long, fulfilling lives.
What’s In The Box
When Harvest was initially discovered, the day was exceedingly hot, and an individual happened to spot a tiny dog in a cardboard box.
It was dreadful, as the dog lacked food or water in any way and was merely abandoned in such a condition.
Later, she was saved by the Dallas Dog rescue group, who were taken aback when she refused to exit the box.
Patti Dawson, the president of Dallas Dog, mentioned to The Dodo: She remained in the box, simply waiting for someone to return.
The team was uncertain about the appropriate course of action, so they resolved to transport her to the shelter in her box in case she was immobile and unable to get out.
After a period, Harvest exited her box and they realized she was alright. Dawson remarked: They kept the box in her kennel because it provided her with security.
The workers observed that the dog appeared quite frightened and spent most of her time hiding from people, prompting them to create an environment for her to feel secure.
A New Beginning
In a fortnight, she was moved to a foster home where they instantly recognized a significant transformation in her.
She became much more energetic and sociable. Her enthusiasm began to influence people positively, and everyone adored her.
When she feels a bit weary, she enjoys sitting and watching TV alongside her foster family.
Dawson shared: It took her roughly a week to truly open up, and since then, she hasn’t slowed down or looked back.
It wasn’t long before this tale reached a joyful conclusion, as shortly after being taken into a shelter, Harvest discovered her new family.
The staff and everyone involved are elated to witness her finally secure and content in her new home.
