Upon learning about a sweet dog who was on the verge of being euthanized, Chelsea felt compelled to intervene and ensure that it didn’t take place.
After spotting a photo of her, she instantly became enamored, jumped in her vehicle, and set off to make a difference!
A Fresh Start
Initially, the puppy was extremely nervous and couldn’t comprehend what was happening. Throughout her entire journey in the car, she trembled with fear.
Upon reaching her new residence, she paused at the entrance, uncertain if she ought to step inside or not. After exploring a bit and hearing some supportive words, the puppy chose to enter.
Even after spending a few weeks in her new abode, the dog, now named Clementine, had yet to acclimate to her new surroundings.
Most of the time, Clementine would be shaking and fixated on a blank wall.
“She would just sit there staring at walls and shaking. I think it was just so overwhelming,” Chelsea remarked.
Even after several months, Clementine would attempt to avert eye contact and would sometimes glance at her new family.
Despite having moments of joy, Clementine still didn’t fully emerge from her shell.
Some days, we would believe she had completely overcome her fear, only to find her hesitant again the next day, so it was definitely a journey.
A Fresh Canine
Clementine’s family opted to provide her with space, time, and plenty of treats, believing she would adapt at her own speed.
And, they were absolutely correct!
When she would come over to us, we would gently pet her. Watching her transform has been the most precious experience.
Now, Clementine approaches her mother all on her own, seeking long and tender pets.
She adores, adores face pets.
