Some puppies simply never abandon… FAITH!
At her most challenging moment in life, the little pup named Hope – possessing the most charming name ever – held onto the belief that someone would come to rescue her! She found herself confined in a tiny crate, forsaken near an apartment building, yearning for a hero to emerge.
Severely undernourished, frail, and lacking hydration, Hope endured for an extended period, surviving on her own without anyone’s assistance until one day – her dreams came true!
Awaiting Someone To Be Her Champion
A compassionate bystander noticed Hope in alarming distress, and without delay, he reached out to Kreitzer’s Critter Corral Puppy Rescue, located in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
Following her initial care, the KCCPR team conducted a veterinary examination and provided her with essential supplies.
She was evidently traumatized, yet the kind-hearted individuals of the KCCPR team understood how to assist! They allowed her plenty of space to acclimate to her new surroundings, along with a soft plush toy to ease her transition a bit.
Numerous Challenges Along The Journey
In addition to her malnourishment, she had lesions across her paws, making it difficult for her to stand or walk like a typical puppy.
“Hope was confined for prolonged periods in a very small cage (too confined for her to stand properly)…The combination of being in the same position for extended durations and direct contact with urine/feces likely resulted in these sores,” KCCPR noted.
Hope had a considerable journey ahead until she was completely healed, yet she already felt immensely more at ease in her new setting.
Bill and Liz Kreitzer, of KCCPR, opted to foster this delightful girl, so she could socialize and adapt to a family environment more swiftly – and she truly relished it!
“Hope is becoming more at ease in her environment, but it will also take her time to genuinely feel secure and let down her guard. She has endured significant trauma and will require time to recuperate (emotionally and physically),” KCCPR shared on their Facebook page.
In addition to her regular medications and dressings, Hope received her own paw protectors as well!
Incredible Transformation
It did not take long for this girl to start embracing her new foster family as her own! After just a few weeks of care, Hope was up on her paws again, eager to play and snuggle!
She finally understood that the tormenting days of being confined and crammed in a locked cage were over – and she had only one purpose left – to be as joyful a pup as she could be!
The Day of Adoption Has Arrived
After two months with her caretakers in North Carolina – a family arrived at the KCCPR seeking to adopt Hope. They were extremely thrilled to finally meet this charming girl in need of a home, and they certainly were prepared to provide it!
Even though she had already grown fond of Bill and Liz, Hope displayed equal excitement at meeting her new family, particularly her little human sister!
She instantly adored them, and she eagerly anticipated the beautiful adventure that awaited them together!
This is what Hope’s mother conveyed to the KCCPR team just a few months after adopting Hope:
“She is thriving incredibly!! We cherish her dearly. Each day her confidence grows. She is thoroughly spoiled and the most wonderful cuddle companion! I take her wherever I go, and she adapts so well. I’m immensely grateful for her. We could not envision life without her.”
