When you nourish a plant, it will reward you with the most beautiful blossom. If you maintain your vehicle, it will transport you wherever you desire. And when you show affection to an animal, it will blossom into the most delightful, joyful creature alive.
Numerous cases exist where a previously sick and defenseless animal, who scavenged the streets, transformed into the most affectionate companion simply because it finally received the care and love it merited.
If you haven’t encountered such a case previously, the tale of today’s dog will demonstrate that it is truly achievable.
Introducing Mrs. Greg
A dog known as Mrs. Greg was discovered all by herself roaming the streets by an animal control officer, who promptly apprehended her and took her to a nearby animal shelter.
Mrs. Greg was in such dire straits that the shelter could not extend her sufficient care. Fortunately, she was soon transferred to Austin Pets Alive! – a shelter capable of providing her exact needs.
“Mrs. Greg’s health was quite poor. She tested positive for parvovirus and suffered from severe sarcoptic mange,” stated Luis Sanchez, director of public relations and communications at Austin Pets Alive!, in an interview with The Dodo.
Typically, a dog diagnosed with parvo isn’t given a promising outlook. Nonetheless, Mrs. Greg resolved to be the exception and endure.
However, due to taking a bit longer to heal from the mange, Mrs. Greg’s fur simply wouldn’t regenerate.
Although the staff members feared this might hinder her chances of being adopted, one human recognized this pup for her true nature and proved them mistaken.
Mrs. Greg, who was renamed Winnie, found a home with Olivia, an extraordinary woman who was committed to assisting her new dog in achieving full recovery and embarking on her best life.
Brand-New Pup
Despite continuing to experience some health challenges, Winnie never lost her optimism.
“I’m aware she battled through parvo and mange in the shelter, and after being adopted, it took some time for her to fully recover. She consistently faced illnesses and had digestive problems, but she remained a trooper and a joyful puppy throughout,” Olivia expressed to The Dodo.
Olivia was uncertain if Winnie’s fur would ever regrow or if she would remain as she was, but it didn’t even matter – she adored her courageous girl regardless of everything.
Nonetheless, Winnie chose to astonish everyone by growing the most beautiful fur coat imaginable!
“I can hardly believe how much fur she has now. It feels like it keeps multiplying!” said Olivia.
Winnie has completely moved on from her past and embraced her new life with her new look.
Transforming from a hairless, ill dog to the sweetest, fluffiest puppy ever, Winnie demonstrated to everyone what a little patience and affection can achieve for a pup.
