Rescue Operation
While discarding some trash, a resident in Austin, Texas, Cassie Jo, overheard something unusually odd.
Upon halting in her tracks, she realized that the sounds were actually the whimpers of a puppy. After a brief examination, she discovered a tiny Jack Russel puppy ensnared in chicken wire and trapped in a storm drain.

Once she was rescued, this lovely girl was taken in by the Austin Animal Center and subsequently moved to Austin Pets Alive (APA!) for a vital medical evaluation.
“Poinsettia was now out of danger, but her struggle was just beginning. After arriving at Austin Animal Center, she began experiencing seizures. Presently, Poinsettia is fighting for her life under the care of our medical team – and we are fighting alongside her. However, we can only achieve this with your assistance!” they expressed.
The APA! commenced Poinsettia on medications to assist with her seizures as well as antibiotics to address her infections.
Despite their apprehension regarding a potential leg injury, the medical staff indicated that they found no evidence of pain or limping.
At last, Poinsettia was safe and on her path to healing. Given that her initial treatment costs were approximated at $500, the Austin shelter took this moment to emphasize the significance of donations.
