After being discovered in dreadful circumstances, this adorable, two-legged pup embarked on her life journey with Rescue PAWS caretakers. Her initial months were challenging, yet Honey was eager to demonstrate to everyone how truly lovely and endearing she could be!
She Concealed Herself From Everyone Until She Encountered A Remarkable Individual
The compassionate locals discovered Honey Stubbs when she was merely a few weeks old. She lacked the lower segments of her hind limbs, was severely malnourished, and bore wounds from dragging her legs across the ground.
Moreover, she was utterly frightened of humans.
“Being so young and left to totally fend for herself, Honey arrived petrified of people, underweight and with lesions all over her back legs,” RP shared on Facebook.
Becca and her teammates at RP were on a feeding mission when they first met this little girl. Seeing a dog in such a dire state was utterly heartbreaking, but fortunately, Rescue Paws had a remedy.
The moment they spotted her, they realized that Honey could no longer remain there by herself.
They transported her to the shelter, where she experienced her first bath and had her injuries treated. Yet, in spite of everything, Honey remained immensely anxious and unsettled.
She stayed hidden in a corner for an extended period and consistently refused to come out. Every time anyone attempted to approach her, she would immediately flee.
Then, a remarkable individual arrived!
Holly, one of the volunteers, recognized Honey’s trepidation, and she dedicated countless hours simply sitting quietly near her and speaking to her with the softest voice. She patiently awaited for Honey to feel secure enough to venture out of her corner and approach her.
Before long, a miracle took place!
Honey cautiously crawled into Holly’s lap and even revealed her tummy, requesting belly rubs. This marked a pivotal moment in which Honey chose to trust Holly, a moment that definitively conveyed, “Holly, you’re my favorite Pawson now!”
Day by day, this courageous pup gradually emerged from her shell, ultimately leading her to unveil her true character!
“Honey is now steadily coming out of her shell and showcasing her remarkably quirky personality and impressive core strength. With only her two front limbs and her two hind limbs elevated off the ground, she is zipping around the others and ADORES a stroll on the beach!,” her caretakers stated on Facebook.
Honey Stubbs – A Joyful Dog That Everyone Adores
In just a few months, this affectionate girl transformed into the shelter’s Sunshine Dog. Currently, Honey exudes such fantastic energy and goes to great lengths to capture people’s attention.
What always astounds everyone is her seemingly limitless energy. Despite her disability, she consistently maintains that large, radiant grin that symbolizes her inner grit.
Honey is the most cheerful dog, longing to be cherished.
She has made significant progress since her rescue. Witnessing Honey’s development and observing her increasing confidence is genuinely fulfilling. Nowadays, she even permits other volunteers who visit the shelter daily to pet her.
Yet, at the end of the day, all Honey desires is a nurturing home.
“All she asks for is an opportunity to discover her forever home with a family that embraces her individuality and comprehends that feeling at home will take time,” RP commented on Facebook.
