A dog mother from North Carolina named Meadow captured national attention with her 15 wonderful bundles of joy she recently gave birth to!
This remarkable Great Dane welcomed her puppies and, much to everyone’s amazement, set an entirely new record in the process! As reported by the rescue, this was the largest litter they had observed in their three years of operation.
Moreover, Meadow is simply the best dog mom ever!
Surprising Turn of Events
According to Nicole Kincaid, director of Perfectly Imperfect Pups, a foster-based rescue from Raleigh, North Carolina, Meadow didn’t have such a glamorous beginning in life. In reality, this two-and-a-half-year-old Great Dane arrived at the rescue following “an unstable past.”
She was rescued as a pregnant dog and just two days later – she gave birth to 15 adorable puppies! Meadow’s story quickly gained national attention, as this was the largest litter this North Carolina rescue had ever experienced.
Meadow had 3 female puppies and 12 males, all healthy and charming!
Shari Wilson, Meadow’s foster caretaker, is simply delighted that this Great Dane was successfully rescued and now has the opportunity to experience motherhood in a secure environment.
All puppies are being cared for and fed around the clock (with bottle supplements in between feedings), and although the entire process is rather exhausting, Wilson is pleased to assist!
“Everyone’s gaining weight, everyone’s eating. They’re all doing really well,” shares Shari.
The entire PIP team is thrilled to see Meadow’s pups all in great condition and flourishing. When the time arrives, all of the puppies will be properly cared for and sent to their forever homes, but for now, the staff wants to ensure they receive all the attention they require.
Seeking A Forever Home
Kincaid mentions that she discovered Meadow on a local social media platform. She was up for adoption, and she swiftly rushed to rescue this amazing mother. Unfortunately, someone else took Meadow before she even had the opportunity to meet her.
Only a few days later, the same group reached out again asking if her organization could take Meadow in – and Kincaid was more than willing to accept!
Regrettably, before arriving at Perfectly Imperfect Pups, Meadow had been with five different families and none could offer her a stable home.
Once she finishes nursing her puppies, the objective is to find Meadow a permanent home and a family who will care for her the way she truly deserves.
Ever since Meadow’s story captured national headlines, the rescue has been receiving food packages and contributions for Meadow and the puppies from individuals across the nation.
The entire team is incredibly grateful for the generous response from the community, particularly knowing that caring for 15 puppies requiring food, supplements, and medical assistance is quite costly.
“If you can contribute, any support is appreciated. Financial contributions, food donations, everything is welcomed,” states Shari.
We hope that the PIP team will continue their extraordinary work rescuing dogs in need, and that Meadow and her fabulous family will soon discover a family they can call their own!
