Being a neglected pup in a shelter is not a simple situation. Watching your friends come and go each day can be quite challenging, particularly if you’re a friendly, sociable lad like Rush!
This adorable Pittie was brought to SICSA Pet Adoption & Wellness Center from Dayton, Ohio as a stray puppy. He was adopted by a family initially but was returned to the shelter, and since that moment, he has been searching for a family to call his own!
His determination to finally discover a permanent home was so profound that he decided to go a bit further, performing the most charming act ever!
A Life Without A Family To Call His Own
It must have been quite difficult for Rush to spend his entire life without a stable home. Every time a family or individual visited the shelter, his hopes soared high! But then, he would watch as a family left with another dog!
Nevertheless, Rush never lost his optimism nor did he cease his enthusiasm about the chance of finding a home for himself. He has always been a good lad, dispelling the myth that “Pitties are inherently vicious.”
A Touching Moment That Captured The Attention Of Many
One day, he chose to attempt something entirely new – an action he had never performed before! He practically grabbed a bed sheet with his mouth and arranged it around his bed to make it appear tidy!
When the SICSA volunteers noticed Rush engaging in this delightful action, they couldn’t believe their eyes!
Leah, one of the volunteers, recorded Rush making his bed, and it rapidly went viral!
In no time, the video received millions of views globally, generating heartwarming responses and melting countless hearts!
Moreover, the most remarkable part was that it became a daily routine! He persisted in making his bed every day until a family appeared just around the corner!
The Perfect Family Finally Showed Up
Leah’s video certainly transformed Rush’s fate for the better; from that moment forth, the applications began flooding in!
However, there was one couple from Dayton, Ohio, that the SICSA staff adored!
Angie and Ronnie Wallace had recently lost their dog to a degenerative ailment, and they weren’t in a position to adopt another pet, but upon seeing the video of Rush – they realized they had to apply for him!
“She exclaimed ‘I think I want him,’ and I replied ‘Alright,’” states Ronnie.
They visited the facility to meet Rush, and just like that – a bond was formed! He embraced his new pawrents with open paws, ecstatic to finally be taken out of his kennel permanently!
Experiencing The Best Life
Even though he finally got to enjoy his best life – Rush never forgot his roots!
His mom decided to allow him to visit his previous family one day, and Rush cherished it! He genuinely showered everyone with the sweetest kisses!
Jessie, Rachel, Sydney, along with his foster parents – Allison and Mike – were all thrilled to witness Rush’s happiness and fulfillment after all this time.
They always believed he was a good lad – he just needed the right timing and the right people to recognize it!
