I’m fairly certain that every dog owner understands that merely contemplating the loss of your furry companion is profoundly tragic.
The connection shared between a dog and its owner is among the most powerful bonds imaginable. Hence, when that irreplaceable connection is severed, the ache that the human experiences is indescribable.
When a puppy goes missing, their owner does everything within their power to attempt to bring them back – from sharing images across social media to saturating the area with flyers.
But have you ever pondered what becomes of all those flyers once the pup eventually makes it back home?
Missing Dog
One Sunday afternoon, while Perla Vanessa was simply going about her routine, she noticed that something was amiss. It wasn’t long before she realized that her dog, Leia, was nowhere in sight.
“In the decade I have owned her, this has never occurred, but it only takes one incident to leave a mark,” Vanessa remarked in a TikTok video.
She further detailed that when Leia escaped, she was not wearing the collar with the Airtag, so there was no way for anyone to identify the owner of this adorable pup.
Vanessa understood that the optimal way to locate her dog was by putting up posters of her cherished pooch throughout her community, hoping that someone would recognize Leia and reach out to her.
“By Sunday afternoon and into Sunday night, I was crying uncontrollably. I was running up and down the street frantically, putting up posters and asking each neighbor if they had seen her,” Vanessa added.
What surprised her most was the fact that everyone had indeed spotted her. Vanessa’s neighbors informed her that Leia had been playing in their yards and enjoying lovely little playdates with them.
“She is microchipped, but that doesn’t guarantee that she will be taken to a shelter. By Monday afternoon, I was in hysterics, crying uncontrollably. I really had my family worried,” she mentioned.
Fortunately, due to all the posters Vanessa had distributed, one of the neighbors who had Leia reached out to her.
They explained that they had been caring for Leia since Sunday night, but they were unsure about whom to contact. Just as they were preparing to bring her to the shelter, they spotted the posters.
Safe And Sound
Now that Leia was finally back in Vanessa’s affectionate arms, it was time for her to remove all the missing posters.
And who better to assist her than Leia!
Leia joyfully accompanied her owner, appearing completely unconcerned and oblivious to the distress she caused Vanessa.
But I’m certain Vanessa won’t hold any resentment towards her because what truly matters is that she is back where she belongs. “Now she is home again, and she will never leave my side ever again,” Vanessa concluded.
