It is a disheartening reality that some canine owners lack the knowledge on how to adequately care for their dogs.
They often overlook the fact that dogs experience emotions as well, and to ensure they lead a cheerful and robust existence, they must receive love and tenderness regularly.
Regrettably, a puppy named Harvey was raised in a setting that did not permit him the freedom to be a typical puppy.
Nevertheless, after a period of time, he encountered two humans who would transform his life into the best experience ever!
Pup Named Harvey
Prior to finding his true home, he was a family pet suffering from a severe case of separation anxiety.
His former family, lacking the understanding to manage a puppy with such a condition, opted to chain him outside and isolate him from others as a solution.
Harvey endured nearly a year without the freedom to move freely before being brought to a shelter in Oregon in search of a new family.
Eventually, someone arrived at the shelter seeking a furry companion and noticed how, among all the other dogs in the kennel, Harvey would keep to himself and stay quiet.
“When they were in the play area, Harvey approached and fully leaned against him. And I thought, oh yeah, if you’re getting the lean from the dog, you know you’re in,” Olivia, Harvey’s mom, recounted to GeoBeats.
From the moment he met Harvey, Olivia’s partner was certain that this was the pup for him.
Harvey became incredibly attached to his father and would be devastated if he departed, even for the briefest time.
Fortunately, over time, Harvey grasped that his loving human would always return, alleviating his need to panic.
The first meeting between Harvey and Olivia occurred when she went out on her initial date with his dad. And just as with them two, Harvey and Olivia instantly developed a bond.
New Life
Upon becoming a member of a new family, Harvey’s life underwent a total transformation.
He now experiences a lively existence brimming with adventures and is never constrained or limited in his movements.
“We reside in Oregon and we enjoy exploring all its wonders. He relishes the snow, goes skiing, and partakes in all kinds of outdoor dog activities,” she shared.
The family also lives in close proximity to the river, which Harvey appreciates, given that he adores swimming and spending time in the water.
Harvey delights in spending time with his humans and has successfully moved on from his past, establishing a robust bond with them.
“It has been wonderful to witness him gain that independence and trust, realizing that I can take a break from my parents and it doesn’t mean that when I re-enter, they won’t be there,” she continued.
In addition to having a loving family, Harvey now enjoys the presence of a younger furry sibling!
Perfect Home
Harvey truly hit the jackpot with his new family. Olivia is the kind of human who will care deeply, regardless of the animal.
“With any animal in my life, they will receive an endless supply of love, care, and compassion because that is the relationship I aim to establish with my animals,” declared Olivia.
Nevertheless, she acknowledges that this pup receives an extra dose of that love and care as she understands his history and desires to compensate for all he lost during his early, vulnerable days.
