Every dog enters the universe with the entitlement to be adored and treasured. They should never endure grief and maltreatment.
A mother dog called Izzy found herself in a dreadful predicament after her heartless owner discarded her on the streets.
The distressed pooch sought sanctuary on a stranger’s property, where she gave birth to six puppies. Rather than offering Izzy the compassion and aid she required, people harassed her and her offspring.
Cody, one of Izzy’s pups, fell victim to the maltreatment and suffered a head injury.
His mother felt scared and powerless. She wished that compassionate individuals would reach out to them and rescue her puppy’s life.
Hastening The Family To Safety
The compassionate individuals who encountered the desperate canine group contacted Rescue Row, a charitable organization situated in Texas.
The rescuers hurried to the location as quickly as possible. They were deeply saddened upon witnessing the condition of Izzy and her pups.
“Izzy is thoroughly emaciated. Rightfully, she fears people and rolls onto her back whenever approached. She is shattered and mentally exhausted, yet remains endearingly sweet. We can hardly comprehend what she has endured,” Rescue Row expressed in a Facebook post.
Izzy and her puppies were taken into foster environments, where they received an abundance of affection.
Unfortunately, Cody was in critical condition. The rescue team promptly transported him to Panther Creek Animal Hospital in Little Elm, Texas.
The four-week-old puppy was so feeble that he couldn’t lift his head. He weighed merely one pound.
Dr. Kim and the medical team rendered him urgent care.
Feeling better, Cody moved in with his foster family, who cared for him splendidly. His foster mom provided different fluids throughout the day.
Striving To Save Cody’s Life
Despite showing signs of improvement, Cody’s state deteriorated a few days later. He was struggling to breathe.
Worried for his life, the distressed rescuers swiftly returned him to Dr. Kim. Both the physician and the team fought tirelessly for his survival, refusing to give in.
Cody was profoundly dehydrated and was connected to an IV drip by the doctor. Fortunately, the pup began to significantly improve.
The little furball spent five days in the hospital. Every night, Dr. Kim took him home to keep a check on his recovery.
His foster family visited him daily. They felt relieved as the pup’s condition was improving.
Cody was making strides in learning to walk. Although he stumbled many times, the puppy refused to give up.
Slowly but surely, the little guy started to regain his vigor. He became capable of standing and walking a bit. Everyone was thrilled by his advancements.
Obtaining His Well-Deserved Happy Ending
Ten days post-rescue, the pup returned to his foster home, where he was enveloped in immense love.
His furry foster siblings provided him with affection and support. The courageous pup felt valued.
Every day, Cody’s health improved, and he was able to walk further. He developed an interest in toys and began to engage with them.
Due to the trauma he endured, Cody was blind in his right eye, so he had to undergo surgery to have it removed.
Fortunately, the operation was a success, and the little one made a complete recovery.
Cody won over the hearts of Dr. Kim and his household. They became deeply attached to the courageous puppy and offered him a permanent home.
Cody was elated to embark on a new life with his humans. They cherished him and showered him with the boundless love he truly deserved.
Izzy and all her young ones eventually found their families who vowed to love them forever. Thanks to the fantastic individuals who rescued them, the canine family now enjoys their best lives.
