The globe is filled with extraordinary dogs. And, we absolutely couldn’t be more delighted about it!
Some are remarkably small; others are exceptionally large, even surpassing their breed standards.
Some possess distinctive patterns on their coats, tails, foreheads, extra digits, an additional nose, and various other traits.
However, none of these features render them strange or undesirable. In fact, they merely enhance their adorability!
Zoey is a charming mix of Labrador and German Shepherd, and she also possesses a distinctive charm.
Some dogs grow into their ears; others develop into their oversized paws.
Zoey matured, but she never adjusted to her oversized tongue.

Zoey And The Guinness World Record
Just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, in a delightful suburban area known as Metairie, one four-legged inhabitant experienced fame. And, can you believe it? Zoey claims it’s almost as scrumptious as her preferred snacks!
Zoey is a lovely three-year-old Lab and GSD hybrid adored by all. Upon their first encounter, her owners instantly fell in love. It was affection at first sniff!
Sadie and Drew Williams, Zoey’s humans, thought her tongue appeared somewhat unusual, but they were confident she would eventually grow into it like many pups do.
As we know, that never occurred.
“We adopted Zoey when she was merely six weeks old, and in the very first picture we have of her, she has her tongue hanging out,” said Sadie.
“It would be slobbering everywhere,” added Dad Drew.
People began to observe Zoey’s exceptionally large tongue, prompting Sadie and Drew to take the initiative to measure it. Well, they anticipated something significant, but they were unprepared for its size!
“So, at some point last year, we brought her to the veterinarian and measured her tongue.”
Zoey’s tongue was measured from the end of her snout to the end of her tongue, and the precise measurement was 5 inches! That’s comparable to a standard pencil, a soda can, or even a toothbrush!
Zoey’s tongue received official recognition from the Guinness World Records on December 23rd, 2022.
She’s now the only living dog with such an extensive tongue.
Zoey’s Guinness Predecessor
Naturally, Zoey isn’t the first dog on the planet with such a lengthy tongue. She’s the latest record holder. Prior to Zoey, there were other dogs renowned for their exceptionally long tongues.
Bisbee, the predecessor of Zoey, was an English Setter from Arizona and previously held the record with a tongue measuring 3.74 inches!
Before Bisbee, Mochi, the St. Bernard from South Dakota, held the title of the dog with the longest tongue, measuring 7.31 inches. Sadly, Mochi passed away in 2021, but this opened a slot for future record holders.
Zoey and her companions are not bearers of any peculiar Guinness records. These dogs do not possess natural abnormalities. It’s simply a whimsical feature that sets them apart in the crowd.
