Well, Bertram, the Pomeranian, is about as close as one can get. With his charming little visage, lovable demeanor, and soft chocolate-colored coat, Bertram genuinely resembles a Teddy bear more than a canine.
While his undeniable charm has captivated the world, winning the hearts of countless individuals who have encountered him or spotted him on social media, young Bertie did not begin his journey easily.
He experienced the harsh reality of not being cherished and wanted by those around him, but fortunately, someone recognized all the affection he had to give, and well… the rest is history.
Introducing Bertram, The Pomeranian
Bertram, the Pomeranian (or Bertie Bert, as he is now recognized on Instagram) was abandoned at the shelter as a young pup because he was allegedly “too large to sell” at the tender age of 5 months. Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for him to find a new home… I mean, just gaze upon that face.
New York artist, Kathy Grayson, spotted this pup on Petfinder, originally listed under the name ‘Jasper’, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and instantly fell for him. She mentioned to Bored Panda, “I flew to Tulsa and drove to the town to pick him up, it was an incredible adventure.”
Kathy, who operates an art gallery named The Hole, in New York and Los Angeles, soon began sharing photos of Bert on her Instagram. However, his adorability was gradually eclipsing her artistic endeavors, with followers desiring to see more of Bert instead.
Consequently, she chose to create him a distinct profile, documenting their life together. Though many were already smitten with this Teddy bear dog, his profile truly exploded in popularity when Kathy dressed him in a Paddington Bear outfit.
The likeness was simply remarkable.
Bertram, The Adventurer
Bertie now leads a rather exciting life, frequently traveling to major cities with Kathy.
Since becoming an internet sensation and amassing a substantial following online, Bertram, The Pomeranian, has even been featured on various international programs, such as Good Morning America and the Rachael Ray Show.
According to his owner, she is not astonished by his amazing social media triumph. Bertie is not just alarming cute but also possesses a wonderful personality that brings joy to those around him.
“Bert is a fantastic fellow and brings joy to people; the internet and social media exist to showcase adorable animals; people require a remedy for all the hostility,” Kathy mentioned to Bored Panda.
Bertram, The ‘Art Enthusiast’
In his leisure time, Bertram also “works” as an art enthusiast in his mother’s gallery. He adores greeting visitors and guiding them through the gallery, particularly showcasing his art expertise.
“I adore when people come to the gallery to see Bertie or when they bring their dogs to meet him! The gallery is free and accessible to everyone, so please drop by and give him a pat,” Kathy expressed.

Bertram is so accustomed to his photos being taken that he even knows how to pose like a genuine model.

When he isn’t working, Bertram, like any other pup, enjoys strolling, splashing in puddles, dashing around, playing fetch, snacking, and, of course, napping.

“Bert is incredibly calm, curious, and playful,” Kathy remarked.
Though his beginnings were somewhat challenging, Bert is currently savoring his life to the fullest as an internet personality, a cherished pet, and being the most adorable living ‘Teddy bear’ imaginable.
