Parting ways with a canine companion is never simple, especially losing one without a proper send-off.

Stephanie Moore-Malmstrom and her family never envisioned that the day they allowed their German Shepherd, Sheba, to frolic outside their residence in Baytown, Texas, would mark the final farewell to their beloved fur baby.

At the time, Sheba was still a young pup and was heartlessly abducted, leaving the Moore-Malmstrom family in turmoil… until Stephanie unexpectedly received a life-altering message!

Sheba Disappeared In 2018

Describing the sorrow Sheba’s family endured upon realizing their cherished pet was taken is almost impossible.

“To the individual who has my baby, please understand she has been spayed, so if you have her for breeding, that will not happen, and we implore you to return her,” Stephanie expressed on her Facebook in 2018.

Stephanie, her partner, and their two daughters spent many sleepless nights pondering Sheba’s fate, yet there was no word from anyone.

“If you took her merely for her beauty and gentle nature, please realize you have created a void in our family; our two young daughters are utterly heartbroken and are praying for their ‘Sheba girl’ to return,” she added.

Sheba has not been spotted since, nor have there been any updates from law enforcement or animal welfare. It felt as if she had inexplicably disappeared without a trace, which was incredibly frustrating.

Over time, they reconciled with the reality that they might never see their furry girl again. After months of exhaustive searching, they ultimately surrendered to the situation.

As years passed, the family was still without news about their pet until a text message arrived on Stephanie’s phone in August 2022:

“Hi Stephanie, your dog, Shiba, has a microchip that has been detected as found…”

After more than four years of Sheba being missing, the news left her speechless and incredulous.

“Initially, I thought, yeah right, let me guess, I won a cruise and a million dollars as well,” Stephanie posted on Facebook.

A Touching Reunion After Over 4 Years

Interestingly, Officer Harper, from Borger Animal Control, Texas, discovered Sheba wandering down a road in a Borger neighborhood, a staggering 600 miles from her home!

At that moment, he had no awareness of her being reported missing, so he collected her in his truck and brought her to the facility.

Once scanned for her microchip, the animal control personnel swiftly located her owners – unaware of the entire narrative, the team was prepared to send Sheba home to her loving family.

Pilots N Paws intervened and transported her back home – resulting in one of the most heartfelt dog-human reunions ever!

The entire family was eager to embrace their beloved girl, pondering whether she would recognize them after all the years apart – but there was no question! Upon her arrival from the plane – Sheba dashed towards her family, overjoyed to be reunited with her parents and her now-grown baby sisters!

Emotions ran high – it was likely one of the most challenging yet utterly beautiful reunions! Even with Sheba nestled in their arms, the family remained in disbelief that their girl was finally back after all those years!

Sheba Is Finally Back Home

Stephanie discovered that Sheba had a family with whom she lived for over four years, but when that family had to move, they abandoned Sheba on the street instead of taking her along.

Thankfully, Officer Harper found her quickly and ensured her safety.

Today, she is more than just an adorable dog; she relishes every second spent with her family. She lavishes love on everyone with her endearing and affectionate disposition!

Despite her traumatic past, Sheba is the most joyful dog in the world, and she has never looked back! Neither has her family!
