When rescuers discovered a pregnant dog named Zia wandering through the area, they took her to a shelter.
The canine’s body, marked with signs, narrated the tale of her harsh life on the streets.
Despite the chaotic shelter not being the environment she wished to deliver her pups, Zia was appreciative and put her trust in those around her.
The dog felt secure as she was no longer at the mercy of the streets. She trusted humans, convinced that they would assist her.
Grateful For Affection And Attention
In February 2019, Fresno Bully Rescue located in California rescued the soon-to-be-mother from the shelter, after which a wonderful foster mom, Noelani, welcomed her into her home.
Upon moving in with her foster mother, Zia experienced relief and gratitude. She continually licked her face and covered her with kisses.
Noelani was astonished by her affectionate nature.
“…She stays loving and trusting. She nudges her head into your armpit in search of solace and companionship,” Noelani shared on Facebook.
Zia’s foster mother provided her with a calm bath and set up a whelping area.
Just five days later, the beautiful dog welcomed four charming puppies, who were later named Zoie, Zeus, Zorro, and Zaina.
Her foster mother remained by her side, offering support and affection.
Zia felt both drained and relieved simultaneously. Fortunately, all her puppies were healthy.
After nursing them, they slept peacefully in her embrace. Zia took exceptional care of her little ones and proved to be a great mother.
With each day, the puppies flourished even more.
As the puppies grew a bit older, they began to showcase their individual personalities.
Their mother delighted in watching them embrace their puppyhood in a nurturing environment.
The endearing mom and her pups loved spending time outside, running in the fields and enjoying the soft grass below their paws.
Discovering The Unconditional Love All Dogs Deserve
Once the puppies were old enough, they found incredible families eager to shower them with affection.
The mother dog remained with Noelani, hoping to find her own happiness as well.
Luckily, Zia didn’t have to wait long to hear the happiest news possible.
A lovely family spotted her on her foster mother’s Instagram and immediately fell in love.
In May 2019, Zia relocated to San Francisco to begin a new chapter with her family. The dog was overjoyed as her greatest wish had been fulfilled.
Her forever family and their little ones surrounded her with immense love.
Liz, Zia’s mom, continued to share updates about the dog’s joyful life on Instagram. She cherished snuggling with her family and soaking in their affection.
When Zia was diagnosed with cancer in December 2019, she demonstrated remarkable strength. She underwent surgery and became cancer-free.
The dog healed and carried on with her life as if nothing had transpired.
In January 2024, Zia’s family announced on Instagram that their beloved dog had crossed the rainbow bridge. They expressed gratitude for all the beautiful years spent with her and vowed to love her eternally.
“It’s impossible to encapsulate our years with Z into a minute. What a sweet, unique dog. Fly high, our Zizi girl. Thank you so much for the memories. We’ll cherish you forever,” Liz articulated in an Instagram post.
