There’s simply no possibility of an adorable canine being an effective police dog!
However, Ruby changed all that. She silenced her critics and left them astonished.
For Ruby is not only extremely adorable but also exceptional at her tasks.
Introducing today, perhaps the most pawdorable police dog that the State of Massachusetts has ever witnessed – Ruby!
The Most Adorable Police Pup Ever
The quaint town of Dedham, Massachusetts, has numerous reasons to take pride, including their outstanding Police Station.
Yet, even our heroes in dark blue require assistance occasionally. And, what could be a better assistant than a canine companion!
In January 2020, the Dedham Police Department announced they were recruiting, and the position was promptly filled.
The new pawfficer in training? A charming Labrador Retriever puppy they called Ruby!
As DPD remarked on their Facebook page, Ruby was hired to “de-escalate situations, engage with vulnerable and marginalized members of the community, interact with community members experiencing mental health or stress challenges, comfort victims and witnesses of violence, and encourage police-community connection.”
Ruby had a considerable task laid out before her. Though she understood there would be extensive training, her instincts assured her of eventual success.
Following a delightful meet and greet with Ruby, organized by the Department, the entire community became enamored with the pup.
Fast forward three years, Ruby remains with the Dedham Police Department. She’s a grown girl now, fulfilling her duties to the fullest extent.
She continues to spread joy to everyone, and she enjoys partaking in community activities, such as:
Hosting fundraisers for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Ensuring all pets receive their rabies vaccinations.
Additionally, accompanying community children for trick-or-treating.
And, bidding farewell to the Dedham High School Class of 2023!
Ruby ensures that everyone stays secure and enjoys life just as she does.
