The most probable response is that it’s not very often. Nevertheless, it doesn’t always have to be this way.
Usually, all it takes is to raise awareness about the situation or make a quick phone call, and someone capable will step in.
Dogs exhibit great resilience, but even they reach their limits and require our support to help them secure a permanent home.
In this narrative, we will share the tale of a fisherman who was simply unwinding when he noticed something out of the ordinary near him.
Hunter Is So Sweet
It was an unremarkable day when a man from Texas decided to go fishing and noticed something peculiar. He heard sounds emanating from beneath the bridge and went over to investigate.
Close by, he spotted a small puppy whimpering near a bush, and he felt heartbroken upon witnessing her condition.
The man quickly reached out to animal rescuers to assist in saving this adorable dog who desperately needed help.
Upon their arrival, the rescuers assessed the puppy, who was later named Hunter, and realized that she was merely five to six weeks old but was unable to move.
This was an alarming indication, but the rescuers were determined not to delay any longer, so they hurried her to a veterinary clinic in Texas.
They observed just how loving and calm she was. Hunter would lick and snuggle all of her rescuers as a way of showing her appreciation for their assistance.
After the veterinarians conducted a thorough examination, they determined that she was dehydrated, had low potassium levels, and an increased white blood cell count.
The appropriate action for her treatment was to administer fluids to help resolve these issues as swiftly as possible.
She Is So Lucky
The next day, Hunter was already feeling much improved and was in high spirits. Subsequent tests, including an X-ray, yielded positive results and showed no further health complications.
After several days under the excellent care of her remarkable rescuers, the transformations were becoming increasingly evident. She began to slowly move on her front legs.
Though still in recovery, this was a vital advancement. After about a week of nutritious meals, health monitoring, and therapy, she was now capable of standing on her legs consistently.
The rescuers initiated water therapy, which they believed would expedite her recovery and enable her to regain mobility sooner.
After approximately 11 days, she was significantly improved and finally capable of walking. Her rescuers placed her in foster care, enabling them to closely monitor her health progress.
During her stay there, she even formed friendships with the other dogs under the care of her wonderful foster mom.
In her foster mother’s care, Hunter would complete her recovery, and she can now finally relax and relish her life.
Nonetheless, this meant that it was now time to undertake the challenging part of this journey. Her fosters had to locate a fitting family for Hunter.
Unsurprisingly, they swiftly found a home for her and another foster dog. They were welcomed into a loving household and are now living life to the fullest.
