“When life throws you lemons, transform them into lemonade!”
Existence can be exceedingly unpredictable – one moment you may be joyful and flourishing, and the next, you find yourself confronted with the most difficult “lemon” imaginable, battling for your own survival.
It can occur to anyone, yet it’s your response to such challenges that can alter everything.
This tiny pup entered Stray Rescue of St. Louis following a devastating vehicular accident, resulting in a severe spinal injury.
To be utterly candid, the outlook wasn’t promising, and the chances of her survival were minimal.
However, she possessed an abundance of spirit, and her eyes glimmered with joyous light, prompting her rescuers to afford her a chance.
She Merited A Chance
Ramone arrived at the Stray Rescue of St. Louis animal shelter with a catastrophic injury after being struck by a vehicle, which rendered her paralyzed and fighting for survival.
Although circumstances seemed dire for young Ramone, there was something about her that encouraged everyone to advocate for her precious life.
She was so full of life that the mere thought of euthanasia made everyone feel sick; thus, they resolved to give her a chance, and wow, did she seize it.
“This little puppy was joyful and brimming with happiness. We could hardly believe she wanted to play with a ball, desired belly rubs, and wanted to kiss our fingers,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis noted in their Facebook post.
The procedure was remarkably challenging, and the veterinarians did all within their power to save her.
Fortunately, the operation was triumphant, and Ramone was exhibiting remarkable progress throughout her recovery journey.
She was an incredibly courageous little pup – genuinely a miracle and an inspiration to all.
Nothing Can Hinder Her
After several months, all her injuries healed, and she was set to begin her journey as a puppy. Nothing could deter her; not even her paralyzed hind legs.
As her back healed, she was capable of moving around independently, sprinting freely in every direction, regardless of her paralyzed hind legs.
Her rescuers soon recognized that her immobilized rear legs were a significant impediment to her movement, so they made the tough choice to amputate both hind legs and her tail to allow her the opportunity to enjoy the best life possible.
She recuperated well from the amputation. She navigated her surroundings efficiently, and her front legs grew stronger with each passing day.
“This incredible, strong, courageous girl epitomizes a warrior. She doesn’t dwell on her situation. In fact, she is unaware of her differences. She’s one of the most joyful beings we’ve ever encountered,” the rescue stated.
Everyone cherishes little Ramone, pampering her with new toys each day. Her favorite items in the world are stuffed toys, and she adores flaunting them.
“She’s 7 months old, weighs about 20 pounds, and is genuinely perfect just as she is. She’s inquisitive, playful, and amiable with everyone. She deserves all the stars, the moon….and every stuffed toy imaginable,” they proclaimed.
Ramone stands as a true inspiration, illustrating to us all that being a little different is perfectly acceptable. The crucial aspect is to approach life with a grateful heart.
Currently, Ramone is still acclimating to walking on two legs, but once the physicians authorize her to utilize a wheelchair, she’ll receive custom ones.
