Just as she was on the verge of drifting into slumber, cozily nestled in her heated bed on a chilly winter evening, Lisa Reams, hailing from Mississippi, noticed her phone illuminate. She pondered, “Who could it possibly be?”
It was a text from a worried individual who had seen a forsaken dog at the notorious dumpster area.
The unfortunate canine was huddled in a ball on a grimy couch adjacent to the dumpsters, trembling not only from the cold, but likely, from anxiety as well.
Lisa felt utterly devastated after reading the notification, as a surge of sorrow enveloped her. Rest was not an option until she ensured this precious girl was out of harm’s way.
A Gentle Hand Of Comfort
Upon receiving the message, Lisa sprang out of bed, still in her sleepwear, and headed to the infamous dumping site.
“My heart shattered because I recognized how frigid it was outside. I wasn’t going to rest until I had her safe and comfortable,” Lisa recounted to The Dodo.
As she arrived, Lisa immediately detected an innocent little girl who had been failed by humans in the most brutal manner imaginable.
The dog – later named Cammi – was quivering as her sorrowful eyes met the gaze of the person who had come to her aid. Observing that help had arrived, Cammi nervously began to wag her tail, seeking affection.
