Regrettably, not numerous dogs understand what a comfy and caring home feels like, as they live their whole lives on the frigid streets.

Moreover, even if a few of them do succeed in getting adopted and welcomed into a joyful household, they necessitate a great deal of patience and compassion, as they adjust to the unfamiliar environment.

Some pups may grasp it immediately while others might engage in some quite peculiar behaviors to genuinely comprehend what is occurring around them.

The canine in today’s narrative did just that.

Home, Sweet Home

Angus, a puppy who spent his whole life on the streets, was ultimately taken into a lovely home by a caring family.

As he required some time to acclimatize, his new family ensured to demonstrate to him all the advantages and joys of residing inside a house. Nevertheless, Angus also discovered all the usual things dogs do that owners tend to frown upon.

One of those actions is occasionally wrecking anything he manages to come across.

“He doesn’t know how to play or fetch but adores destroying stuffed toys or anything that squeaks. He has damaged quite a few things since we’ve welcomed him, as he experienced separation anxiety… He has nibbled part of our sofa, a brand-new ottoman, and two foam bed covers before he felt secure being left alone at home,” Angus’ mother, Debbie O’Hara, shared with The Dodo.

Even though Angus managed to minimize his destructive behaviors, he often loses control every holiday season.

Christmas Came Early

“Last Christmas Eve, he tore open all our presents. He devoured a large box of Purdy’s chocolates and a four-pack of Kit Kats. He has an iron stomach [and] wasn’t remotely ill from the chocolate. Some family members received gifts with the boxes gnawed, and we had to purchase a new hoodie as he shredded one while opening it,” she added.

The O’Hara family promptly took him to the vet to ensure that he was alright after he consumed all those items he wasn’t supposed to eat. And, learning from those blunders, they made it a point to keep chocolate as distant from Angus as possible.

Debbie also made the decision to start concealing the presents, believing they would be secure from this little doggo Grinch, but he still found some of them.

“This time I forgot one bag of unwrapped gifts where he could reach them while we went shopping. He devoured the toffee [and] peanut butter cups, and a few boxes ended up torn, but that’s customary now. He shows no signs of stopping,” she stated.

Despite this aggravating and anxiety-inducing habit, the O’Hara family lacks the heart to reprimand sweet Angus, as they recognize he harbors no malice.

He is simply an incredibly joyful pup who can hardly contain his enthusiasm about being part of a remarkable family that loves him abundantly.

“We adore him as if he’s our own child, and it’s evident that he reciprocates the sentiment,” Debbie finished.

Oh, it is unmistakable that he does!
