A two-year-old Golden Retriever known as Walley, residing in Huron, Ohio, with her owners, Whitney Rhoad and her spouse, Ashley, entered their lives following the passing of their prior Golden named Malibu.
These two dog enthusiasts have always cherished this lovely breed, so they promptly adopted Walley after their Malibu crossed the rainbow bridge. It quickly became apparent that this decision was the best choice, as this dog instantaneously began to fill their lives with happiness.
However, the incident when they inadvertently left Walley behind and shut her outside the locked door of the apartment will undoubtedly be engraved in their memories forever.
A TikTok clip shared by @whitneyrhoad showcases bewildered Walley in front of their apartment door with a toy in her mouth, recorded by the doorbell camera.
The caption of the video stating “When you accidentally lock the dog out,” indicates that her owners overlooked her.
However, this did not concern her greatly as she sat calmly in front of the door, focused on the doorbell camera as if politely “requesting” permission to re-enter, while she waited patiently.
“She was outside for only about 5-10 seconds—my wife entered the door before I did because I had paused to converse with someone in the building,” Rhoad shared with Newsweek. “We always let Walleye visit our neighbor’s home before ours as she leaves a treat outside her door for her. Ashley, my spouse, thought I still had her, and I assumed she had her, but in reality, she was at my neighbor’s enjoying treats, ha!”
Ultimately, no harm was done as Walley swiftly entered the apartment, but that’s why the doorbell camera recorded the touching moments that will be remembered for years.
