Encountering Marla
Upon discovering that a stray canine was in the vicinity of her workplace in Channelview, Texas, Kristin Erwin promptly drove to the location.
Arriving at the scene, as she approached, she noticed an adorable dog meandering on the dock. Seeing her there all by herself brought a wave of sadness.
The instant the dog caught sight of Erwin, she trotted over, brushing against her legs.
Her tail was a flurry of movement. She was thrilled to see a familiar face. Erwin petted her head, and the pup gazed at her, grinning. Her expression brightened up.
As soon as Erwin laid eyes on her, she realized she had to bring her home.
After providing her with nourishment and hydration, she examined the stray pooch more closely. Erwin observed that the dog was producing milk. She understood that her puppies must be quite nearby.
Her Revelation
She attempted to locate the puppies, and based on information from a local resident, she discovered their whereabouts.
“They were hidden at an old dilapidated, closed restaurant, right on the porch area. They were merely 3-4 weeks old. It was December, and the temperatures were dropping fast, and I couldn’t abandon her,” stated Erwin.
The owner of the property informed her that the dog had been abandoned a few weeks prior while she was still pregnant.
The gentle canine had been caring for eight puppies. Erwin gazed at her in admiration and felt deep sympathy for the brave and weary mother dog.
“She must have been entirely depleted and fatigued to keep them alive. I have immense empathy for stray mother dogs; it particularly resonated with me.”
She transported the sweet pups in a crate and placed them in her vehicle while they joyfully wagged their tails. Their mother, whom she named Marla, was so fatigued that she dozed off during the ride to Erwin’s home.
The Most Joyful Chapter Of Their Existence
The lively puppies and their lovely mother infused Erwin’s household with immense joy. They resided there for a month before relocating to another foster environment.
Once they reached an appropriate age, they received their initial vaccinations.
The adorable puppies were set to look for their permanent home and commence the most joyful chapter of their lives.

Even though Erwin felt a sense of loss without Marla and her puppies at her home, she was elated as she recognized the bright futures that awaited the puppies.
