Upon Ashley’s disappearance, Brittney along with her entire family searched for her daily for hours. The local community rallied to assist them, including friends and relatives.
However, after more than two weeks of relentless searching, they gradually began to lose faith that they would ever find her.

One day, Brittney received a message from Hailey Lingo, who, as stated by Halifax Humane Society, is an advocate for missing and found dogs.
Hailey believed that Ashley was actually a dog named Kit, available for adoption at Halifax Humane Society, prompting her to reach out to Brittney.
Upon viewing the picture of the dog named ‘Kit’, the owners instantly recognized her resemblance to their Ashley.
The most astonishing fact was that the dog was located in a shelter in Daytona Beach, Florida, nearly 300 miles away from their home, and in an entirely different state.
How Ashley made her way there, may remain a mystery. Nevertheless, she is now back with her family, and that is what matters most.
Upon spotting her mom and dad, Ashley began leaping in her kennel, barking joyfully, while her tail twirled like a helicopter blade.
There was no question that this was indeed their Ashley.
Best Reunion Ever
“It was unbelievable that someone located a picture of her and found her at a shelter approximately 300 miles away. We couldn’t be happier that we tracked her down. It felt surprisingly surreal,” Brittney shared with The Dodo.
Ashley was thrilled to return home and reunite with her siblings, instantly reviving the lively atmosphere of the house.
Upon their return to Georgia, the family ensured Ashley was microchipped to avert any future incidents like this.
Not only did Ashley joyfully reunite with her family, but she also gained international recognition for her boundless elation upon seeing her cherished mom and dad after weeks of separation.
