For every dog owner, having their cherished pets go missing is a terrifying ordeal.
As the owners relentlessly search for their furry companions and ponder their whereabouts, they are plagued by the anxiety that something unfortunate may have occurred.
Sandy Hernandez endured that very ordeal after his Siberian Huskies, Ragnar and Kloud, leaped over the fence and vanished without a trace.
Searching For His Beloved Dogs
Consumed by sorrow, Hernandez began his search, but his dogs were nowhere in sight. He regretted not having them microchipped.
Resolute in his quest to locate his pups, Hernandez created missing-pet flyers and distributed them throughout the neighborhood.
Fortunately, a man who noticed his flyers reached out to Hernandez, informing him that his dogs had been found roaming the streets and were now at Miami-Dade Animal Services.
Upon receiving the joyous news, Hernandez hurried to the shelter to retrieve his dogs.
As he approached the entrance of the shelter, he spotted Ragnar and Kloud. They were participating in a photoshoot organized by the shelter in collaboration with Ocean Drive Magazine to promote pet adoption.
The Joyous Reunion
Ragnar and Kloud were thrilled to see their dad. With joyful tails wagging, they dashed into his outstretched embrace. They had missed him just as much.
As Hernandez embraced them, he buried his face in their plush fur and wept tears of happiness. He struggled to articulate his emotions.
“My babies! I lost them on Friday night. Yesterday I was putting up posters, distributing flyers all over the area, and the man who found them told me he brought them here yesterday at 1 p.m. I rushed over and found them. I can’t describe how it feels,” Hernandez shared with CBS Miami.
The Huskies were overjoyed to see their father, their smiles beaming from ear to ear. They excitedly jumped into his vehicle, eager to return to their home.
Hernandez took his dogs to the veterinarian and ensured they were microchipped.
