Words fail to capture how youngsters view the world. Transitioning into adulthood tends to strip away much of our innocence, yet children maintain a deeper connection with compassion than adults.
Gigi, affectionately referred to as “G” by her mother, set out with her mom to the nearby shelter to choose a dog of her own. Among all the possible candidates, Gigi was certain about her preference. This little girl was determined to remind us all once again of the importance of kindness.
Audra, Gigi’s mother, attempted to draw her attention towards the other, healthier dogs, but the unnamed elderly dog with numerous issues was Gigi’s preferred choice.
From the instant Audra and Gigi entered the shelter, the two felt an instant connection. The two-year-old kept returning to this ailing senior Pitbull, completely ignoring her mother’s suggestions.
A display of compassion for the ailing Pitbull’s circumstances ignited Gigi’s continued interest. She pointed at the unnamed canine and repeatedly expressed:

There was no swaying Gigi as she was determined to take the Pitbull for a brief walk. The nameless shelter dog struggled to leave its confinement. Yet, with Gigi’s gentle encouragement and ample patience, the dog eventually moved toward the grass.
The moment they exited the kennel zone, the Pitbull realized this little girl might be its savior. Cowering behind her, the dog gradually comprehended that a glimmer of hope was present.
Many Issues Afflicted the Pitbull, Yet Gigi Remained Unfazed
No matter how overwhelming the odor from the dog’s infected paws or the ugly appearance of its runny nose were, young Gigi appeared completely unfazed.
The dog struggled to walk due to pain in its paws. When they stepped onto the grass, the two-year-old managed to encourage the Pitbull to run. It requires a unique type of person to inspire a hurting dog to move.
Named and ailing, yet now experiencing a taste of happiness, the dog felt revitalized. It trailed Gigi wherever she ventured. Together, they explored the doghouse, and the girl tended to the pus seeping from the Pitbull’s ears and eyes.
Resourcefully, Gigi used her blue dress to wipe it all away. Despite likely feeling discomfort, the dog stayed completely still. There was no sign of fear or distress. It was trust that blossomed at first sight.
Gigi consistently recognized that the dog was unwell and needed treatment.

When it was time for the dog to return to its enclosure, Gigi and her mother went inside again. Once the kennel door closed and the Pitbull found itself once more behind bars, Gigi emphasized the importance of helping the dog by repeating her words and sharing a glimpse of her plan.

As no one seemed to take action regarding this elderly, ailing Pitbull, Gigi resolved to look after it herself. Her mother was left astonished by how thoughtfully and compassionately her daughter had acted toward a dog she had only just met moments earlier.
The Gigi And Scarlett Saga
No one can refuse Gigi, not even her mother. Consequently, they adopted the dog and ultimately named her. Scarlett was officially welcomed into the Spurio family.
Following weeks of treating the mange and infections, the Pitbull returned to her prime alongside her dear friend, Gigi. They play together, sit in the car side by side, share a lollipop, and even occasionally have disagreements.
Every moment spent together is delightful, even during bath time. It’s essential to be clean and gleaming for that ladybug costume.
