As a teacher named Yolanda approached her workplace at San Marcos High School in Texas, she did not foresee the surprise that lay ahead.
Just as she was about to step into the school, five small furry creatures appeared suddenly, racing towards her.
The underfed puppies looked up at the instructor with desperate eyes, pleading for essential assistance and kindness.
Yolanda felt it was her duty to help them. She proceeded inside the school and requested help from her colleague, Belinda Peña, who serves as a senior assistant there.
The Furballs Receive Assistance
Upon Peña’s venture outside to assess the situation, she noticed a cardboard box nearby and understood that the little fur babies had been abandoned.
The starving pups had managed to break free from the box and sought aid.
When the caring individuals picked up the box, they discovered a sorrowful note left by the person who had dumped the puppies outside the Texas school.
“The dog shelter didn’t want them. We can’t care for them. The initial owner intended to discard them. I’m confident you can do something. I apologize,” read the note.
The educators and staff gathered the puppies and took care of them. Given the heat, they provided water to help cool them down.
The personnel, who worked reduced hours during the summer, were thankful that they were present to assist the small puppies.
“If not, who knows what might have occurred?” Peña shared with The Dodo.
The kind-hearted individuals contacted animal control. While awaiting the officer’s arrival, the staff engaged in play with the adorable puppies.
“They were the most adorable creatures. They had large ears … Just joyful little puppies,” Peña mentioned.
One educator grew attached to one of the pups and opted to take him home.
Seeking Loving Forever Homes
Kay Lynn Dodd, a school counselor, was enchanted by the remaining four puppies. When the animal control officer arrived to collect them, Dodd felt uncertain if she could bear to part with them.
“The officer mentioned, ‘Well, it’s the end of the day, I can’t ensure someone will be available at the shelter to intake them. And I just couldn’t live with that on my conscience,’” Dodd stated to The Dodo.
The kind-hearted woman decided to take them in to foster. She aimed to shower them with affection and prepare them for their forever families.
Thanks to the exceptional care Dodd provided, the puppies flourished. They delighted in playing in their foster environment and absorbing all the affection Dodd gave them.
She named them Rotund, Buttercup, Bandit, and Snickers. The siblings were thankful to their foster parent and demonstrated immense affection.
Although they cherish their time with Dodd, the furballs eagerly await the chance to meet their forever humans who will love them endlessly.
