“Her Heart Couldn’t Bear It”
Upon visiting the BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, Maryland, this family engaged in the usual process of observing each kennel and contemplating which dog to welcome into their lives.
At one moment, their daughter separated from them and approached a kennel housing a dog who did not come out to welcome them. Instead, this canine remained in a small corner of the enclosure, barely showing his head.
The 16-year-old girl observed that he was extremely timid, and his sorrowful expression and fearful demeanor deeply moved her. She immediately requested the shelter personnel to explain the situation, which they did.
They revealed that he had been mistreated and neglected, resulting in severe physical and mental distress. After hearing this, she urgently implored her parents to adopt him, stating “her heart couldn’t bear it.”
