At times, I get the impression that there’s no such thing as selecting a dog for oneself.
Often, it’s they who gaze into your eyes and forge an intense bond that leads you to believe life would lack purpose without their presence.
During her visit to the Animal Care Center in New York, Chelsea encountered two chocolate brown eyes that instantly captured her affection, belonging to a pup named Pickles.
Meant To Be
Pickles’ existence prior to meeting Chelsea was not all sunshine and happiness, as it rightfully should have been. She was discovered chained to a pole during a heat wave with no water or shade for protection.
Following her medical evaluation, the veterinarians discovered that Pickles, who was merely one year old, had recently given birth. Heartbroken by her sorrowful tale, the New York shelter placed her up for adoption, hoping that a compassionate individual would appear and provide her the life she deserves.
And that’s precisely what took place.
When she first arrived at her new home with Chelsea, Pickles was quite unsure of what to do.
“She was extremely inquisitive. I don’t believe she had ever lived indoors before. The car felt like a UFO to her. She couldn’t stop staring at the TV and became very perplexed as it was on,” Chelsea shared with GeoBeats.
However, as she began to relax, this remarkable pup discovered what she cherished most in the entire world – physical affection!
Every time she spotted Chelsea sitting or lying down, she would rush over and snuggle with her.
But there was another individual with whom Pickles adored to snuggle: Chelsea’s boyfriend.

“She is somewhat of a boyfriend thief and really likes to rest her paws on his leg, ensuring that she sits between us so that we are not actually in contact,” she mentioned.
Suddenly, that timid and quiet pup from the shelter evolved into the biggest diva, demanding endless love and attention.
