Dogs are remarkably tenacious creatures, yet they are also susceptible. There is a limit to what a loving puppy can endure before it becomes despondent.
The root of many of their emotional challenges stems from individuals who mistreat and neglect them or simply discard them in the streets. Regardless of the situation, it is all horrifying.
There is never any justification for why individuals would treat dogs in such a manner. It is exceptionally heartless, and we must become more attentive to this issue to provide assistance.
This mother dog’s heartbreaking tale begins after she was forsaken by her owners because she lost her pups due to an illness.
Fortunately for her, rescuers received word of her plight and came to her aid.
She Was Truly Heartbroken
When volunteers from Roadogs Southern California Dog Rescue arrived to assist this pup, they could hardly fathom what had transpired.
Upon learning the full story, they were heartbroken. This unfortunate mother simply couldn’t come to terms with the loss of her young ones, and she was exceedingly wary.
Their rescuers felt it best to take her to a foster home, allowing someone to demonstrate to her that she was indeed safe. This would greatly aid in her relaxation.
At this point, Kelly Sayer stepped in. She volunteered to foster this pup, called Santine, and help her regain her trust in humans.
Initially, this dog was quite frightened and wouldn’t allow anyone to approach her. She wasn’t ready to trust anyone just yet.
She would snarl at anyone who even tried, which broke Kelly’s heart. It was devastating to contemplate what she had endured to elicit such a response.
She Is Simply The Sweetest Dog
However, Kelly’s son, Landon, managed to win her over. She took a liking to him, and the two ultimately developed a bond.
This continued for some time, and it appeared that her disposition towards others in the household also shifted. It seemed that all she needed was a bit of affection and attention.
Once she lowered her defenses, everything transformed. She became much more joyful and even desired to engage in play with the other kids in the home.
Her rescuers noticed that she was sociable around other individuals and even with other dogs and cats. This was a promising indicator, as it suggested she could be adopted by just about anyone.
She was undeniably affectionate, so the chances of her finding a loving home in California were favorable.
Despite enduring numerous terrible experiences in her life, Santine has demonstrated that she still has plenty of love to share and deserves a wonderful family.
Although we do not know if her foster family or rescuers have located someone special for Santine, I am just delighted that she finally feels like herself again with these wonderful individuals who chose to care for her. She deserves nothing but the best.
