A small Chihuahua male – subsequently named Nile – was forsaken on the streets of Long Beach, California.

He was frightened, isolated, and extremely jittery. For several weeks, no one could approach him…

Whenever someone tried to get close, Nile would promptly flee. Nonetheless, many individuals in the community were concerned for him.

They not only provided him with food and water throughout the area, but also genuinely invested time in monitoring his whereabouts and well-being.

Alone And Frightened

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan recognized the need to contact Hope For Paws, a rescue organization based in Los Angeles, for assistance.

Loreta Frankonyte and Eldad from Hope For Paws reached the scene and dedicated several hours tailing the little fellow, but he was exceedingly apprehensive and jittery.

Ultimately, after many hours of pursuit, Nile became genuinely frightened and vanished. They could no longer locate him.

However, once again, the neighbors intervened and informed the rescuers that Nile habitually entered a specific yard each day. It seemed he felt secure there, thus opting to rest and sleep in that yard.

Loreta and Eldad courteously requested the homeowner to close the gate and block all possible escape paths when he came to nap in their yard.

“Prior to approaching the dog, we ensured there was no way for him to evade,” Hope For Paws stated in the rescue video.

They discovered the little fellow resting amidst some trash and children’s playthings. The terror in his gaze was apparent.

The rescue was far from effortless, but following the initial fright and struggle, Nile eventually settled down. He was, after all, a clever little guy.

“These instances are incredibly terrifying for dogs, yet we act quickly to reassure them that they are secure with us,” the rescue team elaborated. They spent a few additional moments with the dog, soothing him before placing him into a crate.

Once he was finally inside the crate, he entirely relaxed.

His metamorphosis from a frightened little pup who lacked trust in anyone to the most affectionate dog who relished being loved was truly heartwarming.

“From my perspective, giving a bath, feeling clean for the first time in ages, and having that positive interaction with us significantly aids them. A hug, a bath, and a sprinkle of humor can make a great difference,” remarked Eldad, the founder of Hope For Paws.

Nile completely surrendered in their embrace. They were astonished that he was the same dog who had been fighting for his survival merely an hour earlier.

Following a soothing bath, generous belly rubs, and cuddles, Nile was prepared to move to his foster home.
