That is precisely what Suzette Hall, the creator of Logan’s Legacy, California, contemplated when she learned about a dog in dire need of prompt support.
Assistance Is On The Horizon
Upon receiving a call late into the night regarding a forsaken dog who had been severely hurt, Suzette took immediate action, preparing her equipment without delay.
With a humane dog trap and some treats, she headed toward the area where the dog was last seen, eager to assist.
“I ventured out at midnight. She was out in a desolate area, on a narrow road. I realized I had to retrieve her,” stated Suzette.
However, Suzette dedicated considerable time searching through the Californian streets, attempting to spot the dog, illuminating her flashlight in all directions.
Suddenly, aided by the moonlight, she spotted two gleaming eyes gazing back at her.
“I recognized her by her eyes. We named her Moonie since it was the moonlight that guided my attention to her,” remarked Suzette.
Despite being terrified, Moonie courageously entered the trap. She exhibited remarkable trust in Suzette, seeming to understand that help was at hand.
Though her eyes were captivating, they couldn’t conceal the difficult condition she was in. Moonie was exceptionally underweight, covered by an old, filthy coat that draped over her frail frame.
She was also afflicted with mange and scabies, and had an unpleasant odor.
Nevertheless, even in her most challenging state, Suzette remained steadfast beside Moonie, ensuring she would not endure another moment of solitude and fear.
Suzette gently placed Moonie in the vehicle, where both rested through the night, anticipating the vet’s opening.
Improving
Beginning her checkup first thing in the morning, Moonie embarked on her recovery path.
Although the journey to restore her health was lengthy, requiring her to be quarantined for six weeks because of her various ailments, Moonie was never alone.
She was surrounded by individuals who cherished and tended to her, ensuring her utmost comfort.
After completing her treatment, she was transitioned into foster care. However, due to her affectionate nature, her quest for a permanent home was swiftly fulfilled.
“She was placed in two different foster homes. They were preparing to offer her for adoption during her second fostering period, but her foster mother insisted, ‘No, I cannot part with this girl. We cannot let her go,’” Hall expressed.
Life in her new residence undoubtedly brought joy to Moonie. In no time, her transformation was remarkable, resembling a completely rejuvenated dog.
Additionally, since she is the sole child of her new owner, Moonie receives all the affection a dog desires, and she certainly adores it!
