When Lisa, associated with Big Love Animal Rescue in Los Angeles, received a notification about a dog that had resided in the desert for over a year, she realized she needed to take action.
Initially, Lisa was unaware of the challenges this rescue would entail, but fortunately, she had a clever strategy prepared.
Assistance Is On The Horizon
Despite the expansive Los Angeles desert, Lisa efficiently located the Pit Bull quickly. Nevertheless, she encountered another hurdle. This dog was incredibly fast!
The unfortunate pup was so frightened that she dashed back and forth across the field, displaying distrust towards any human that approached.
“I couldn’t capture her. She just ran continuously,” stated Lisa.
Lisa then reasoned it would be best if she didn’t further stress the dog, so she decided to call it a day. Yet, she cleverly devised a trap, placing it there overnight with hopes of snaring the little pittie.
The following day, she returned to the desert to inspect the trap and her eyes lit up at the sight.
The little speedy pittie was secure and sound, trapped inside and calmly awaiting her rescue.
A Fresh Start
What concerned Lisa next was what would occur when she released the fleet-footed dog.
To her astonishment, once the dog exited the crate, she appeared quite serene and composed. It seemed as though she had accepted her situation, realizing she was in trustworthy hands.
Naming her Pepper, Lisa took her to the veterinarian for a thorough examination. Subsequently, she opted to foster her temporarily and brought her home.
Almost instantly, she really opened up. She just shined like a Christmas tree.
Pepper seemed like a completely transformed dog with her foster mom. She still enjoys sprinting around, but one of her newfound hobbies is rolling on the grass, which brings joy to Lisa.
She also relishes this newfound attention. Whenever Lisa scoops Pepper up in her arms, she purely melts away, not wishing to leave the comforting hug.
However, Lisa found her a permanent home, which did not diminish her affection in any way.
Pepper is now part of a loving, large family who cherishes her, providing her with all the care and affection a dog requires, along with ample space to run and enjoy freedom.
