Feeling let down for the first time is always incredibly difficult.

Now, envision facing that disappointment for the 14th occasion.

It would be truly heartbreaking.

Well, you can only speculate about how Ronald, the canine, experienced it. He was assured a warm home 14 times consecutively, yet he constantly found himself back in the shelter.

Before long, Ronald began to feel anxious about the adoption process.

In his case, it never culminated in a positive outcome.

However, Ronald’s unfortunate spell was finally nearing its conclusion.

A caring family arrived and extended to Ronald more than just a formal adoption: they presented him with a home.

If there exists a Guinness World Record for most times nearly being adopted, Ronald would undoubtedly possess it.

This endearing, large fellow, with an even larger heart, believed he was headed for his eternal home 14 separate times. That’s three times more than what some shelter dogs experience throughout their entire existence!

Some claimed Ronald was too large. Others were uncertain about having him around young children. And, there were even those who did not provide a valid explanation for rejecting this immense puppy at heart as their pet.

Ronald endured heartbreak so many times that he lost count.

Yet, a glimmer of hope remained alive in his heart, wishing for a wonderful family to come and offer him a chance at a fulfilling life.

When the SPCA of Wake County, North Carolina featured Ronald on their website, the atmosphere felt… different. Something was certainly about to shift.

I suppose Ronald’s lucky number is 15!

His new family mentioned that Ronald was doing well. He even acquired a new furry sibling, an Aussie Shepherd named Billie! They were not concerned that Ronald weighed 64 pounds, nor did they hold his previous rejections against him.

All they desired was this extraordinary dog because they could see it reflected in his eyes.

“I truly believed someone would swoop in and adopt him right away, and I wouldn’t stand a chance,” remarked Kiersten Davis, Ronald’s new mother.
