Having spent more than 400 days as the shelter’s longest inhabitant, this adorable pup ultimately discovered her ideal match and reveled in the greatest gift of all – a new dream residence!
She Definitely Deserved To Have A Space To Call Her Own
For the team at Humane Society of Scott County, Iowa, Faya has always been an extraordinary dog. With her brown eyes and stunning vibrant fur, she is a darling and adores everyone at the rescue!
“Faya has been at our shelter for precisely one year today. She is so amazing with our team, and we love her dearly, but she truly deserves a place to call her own,” the rescue shared on Facebook.
However, despite her unique personality, the one aspect she lacked was applications. She remained at the shelter longer than anyone anticipated, recently marking her 400-day milestone.
Faya didn’t allow that to dishearten her, though. She maintained her positive demeanor and the most delightful smile despite her unfortunate circumstances. Throughout her stay, she was fantastic with the staff and won everyone’s affection with her charm.
Then, one day, a human-shaped miracle transpired! Faya’s new dad showed up at the shelter’s entrance, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Everyone at the shelter was overjoyed to finally witness Faya thrive in her new owner’s embrace. It’s been such a lengthy journey, but she finally succeeded!
“It’s official…Faya, our longest resident, has been adopted after 420 days of residing in the shelter! To say our staff and volunteers were thrilled is an understatement. We’ve provided her with so much affection and care over the numerous months she was here, and this is the moment we were all anticipating,” HSSC expressed in a Facebook post.
She Couldn’t Be More Thrilled
Faya and her dad are overjoyed to have found one another. Given their mutual excitement during their initial encounter, it was undoubtedly love at first sight.
From this moment forward, this delightful girl will never again worry about finding a home. She finally possesses a lap for cozy naps and a loving household to belong to. Most importantly, she has a companion!
“She finally has the chance to sleep in a home of her own. We are incredibly delighted for her and her new best friend,” they added.
