The tale of Fred and Fiona is the most remarkable story you will encounter today. The two forsaken dogs separated in 2014 in California. He was left in a park by his owners, while Fiona found herself at a yard sale.

The siblings reunited completely unexpectedly after a woman adopted Fred and subsequently decided to take in Fiona three years later. The astonishing part is that she was unaware that the two dogs were related.
Here’s how it unfolded…

Fred Was Adopted In 2014 After Being Abandoned In A Park

Fred was forsaken by his initial family in 2014 at a park in Southern California. Once he was taken to a shelter, a staff member there chose to adopt him. Fred, it turns out, is predominantly a mix of a Siberian Husky and a Bully.

Eventually, the woman relocated with him to Wisconsin, several thousand miles away from Fred’s original residence.

After Fred’s new guardian came across a post regarding another abandoned dog in California in 2017, it reminded her of the first time she saw Fred. The unbelievable part was that this dog resembled Fred almost identically! She instantly fell for Diamond, which was Fiona’s original name.

With a bit of assistance from her former colleagues at the California shelter, she managed to bring Fiona to Wisconsin. The initial plan was to have her as a foster dog, but once Fiona arrived in her home, she realized she had to keep her.

“A friend tagged me in a post about her, and I felt the same sensation I had when I first met Fred. I knew she had to be with me. The original intention was for her to be just a temporary foster. Oops!”

Following numerous comments on their similar appearances, the woman opted to conduct a DNA test on both dogs. She entertained the thought that they might share the same breed, but never did she dream that Fiona and Fred were actually siblings.

The results of the DNA test revealed that these two pooches share over 50% of their DNA, indicating that they are indeed full brother and sister.

“I’m unsure if they sense that they recognize each other from their earlier life in California, but they are an absolute perfect match!”

Was their reunion merely an incredible coincidence or a grand fate – we may never ascertain. However, we do know that Fiona and Fred are now 10-year-old dogs living their best lives together in Wisconsin, happy in their forever home.
