When the wonderful women from Love Furry Friends Animal Rescue received footage regarding a small puppy residing near a busy roadway, they immediately took action to save it.
So, allow us to introduce Lucy.
Lucy had existed for a long duration close to a bustling road, barely managing to survive.
She was extremely frightened and had no faith in people whatsoever. The moment anyone attempted to approach her, she would flee as far away as she could.
This is why no one rescued her from the streets or even made an effort to assist her until her saviors eventually showed up.
However, what they did not realize was that Lucy had a mother, and they both were living side by side on the streets.
A Heartwarming Rescue
Lucy was rescued and brought to a secure place. Following her medical treatment, a bath, nourishment, and toys, she gradually began to change into a true lovebug.
Nevertheless, when the rescue organization shared about Lucy on their social platforms, they were astonished to discover that Lucy had a mother who was still out there, somewhere on the streets.
Individuals who occasionally fed the duo sent them an image of the two dogs from when Lucy was still surviving on the streets.
Stunned by this revelation, the rescuers instantly drove to the spot where they found Lucy, hoping to locate her mother as well.
“She frequently roams the streets searching for food for herself and for Lucy. That’s the reason we missed her when we were there for Lucy,” remarked the Love Furry Friends Animal Rescue in the video.
Upon arriving at the site, they found the mother…
She rushed towards them as soon as they called her. She must have been quite famished because she devoured the food they provided her without delay.
Additionally, she was very sociable and showed no fear towards the people at all.
She had missed Lucy terribly.
Touching Reunion
The mother – later named Rozy – was initially taken to a veterinary clinic since she was breathing very heavily and loudly.
Tests revealed that Rozy was afflicted with heartworm in her heart and pulmonary artery, and she required immediate treatment.
At around eight to ten years old, Rozy was significantly older than Lucy, who was only ten months.
Lucy was unaware that she was about to reunite with her mother very soon. She was regretfully resting in her small bed when Olena walked into the room holding her mother in her arms.
Lucy saw them and her tail instantly began to wag wildly.
Overwhelmed with joy upon recognizing her mother, she began bounding around her and showering her with affection.
Rozy was still a little apprehensive in her new surroundings, but Lucy simply did not want to leave her side. Although both had their individual doggy beds, they opted to share one together.
Lucy was finally a joyful puppy once more.
From that point onward, they did everything together and did not part for even a moment.
