I’m fairly certain that every pet owner’s greatest dread is misplacing their beloved companion.
And, when such a devastating incident occurs, all they can ponder is where their pet might be, if they’re unharmed, and whether they will ever come back home.
Regrettably, there are some individuals who simply fail to grasp this and completely overlook the reality that animals have emotions as well.
A Very Heart-Wrenching Scene
When an employee at an Omaha audit office heard some unusual sounds emanating from a dumpster, she initially assumed it was a raccoon.
However, since it was late in the evening, she didn’t feel quite comfortable investigating the dumpster herself, so she hoped someone else would come along to open it and set the stray creature free.
Yet, upon her return the following morning, she was appalled to discover that it was not a raccoon at all. It was, in fact, an innocent, frightened puppy who was bound in duct tape.
His whole head was immobilized in duct tape, and his back legs were bound together. His tail was also secured with adhesive, and he had a substantial amount of food and other debris stuck in his fur.
The anxious individuals quickly reached out to Animal Control to inform them about the situation.
“I have never encountered anything like this,” remarked Kevin W, one of the personnel who made the discovery.
The unfortunate puppy was swiftly transported to the Nebraska Humane Society where he received all the necessary support.
Finally Secure
Upon his arrival at the Nebraska shelter, he was sedated, enabling the staff to remove all the tape and grime.
Due to the strength of the duct tape, the team had to shave off his fur to completely eliminate it.
Once liberated, the puppy was extremely elated and warmly welcomed his rescuers with lots of hugs and kisses.
The staff proceeded to carry out a comprehensive medical examination and concluded that despite some minor skin irritation, he was absolutely healthy.
Fortunately, the pup possessed a microchip, enabling the Nebraska Humane Society to discover not just his name, Leo, but also the contact details of his owners.
It turned out that Leo had been reported missing by his mother the moment he vanished, and she was absolutely thrilled to have him back in her arms. However, she simply couldn’t comprehend why someone would subject him to this.
“He’s the most loving dog! I don’t understand why anyone would do this,” stated Erin, Leo’s mother.
Fortunately, Leo and his family can leave all this behind, as he is now secure and cozy in the comfort of his home and will never have to endure anything like this again!

Sadly, the dumpster where Leo was discovered is situated in a location without surveillance cameras.
For this reason, the Nebraska Humane Society is requesting anyone with information related to this case to immediately reach out to the Nebraska Humane Society.
The humane society is offering a $1,000 reward for any details that may lead to an arrest regarding Leo’s situation.
