Not every dog is fortunate enough to have an owner and many times they are abandoned or must rely on themselves on the streets.

This was the predicament of a fearful German Shepherd, lost in the desert with no one to care for him, struggling to find food and water.

Fortunately, the local animal rescue organization, Hope for Paws, discovered this canine wandering the fringes of Los Angeles and provided assistance.

Alone In The Desert

He was located on the streets and was incredibly difficult to capture. Quite obstinate and uncooperative as well, likely due to past human mistreatment.

The rescue personnel had to utilize a trap with a net.

They set up a sizeable, sturdy net at one of the exits and guided him toward it until he ran into it and became ensnared, as catching this boy relying solely on survival instincts was not feasible.

After he was caught, they had to use several catcher’s snares to subdue him without causing harm, then they brought him to a cage to help him calm down.

A few bystanders worried that they might be inflicting harm on the dog, but that confusion was quickly resolved.

Once inside, they freed him from the net and snares, allowing him to recuperate.

They ensured he received ample food and hydration as he had become severely dehydrated while wandering alone in the sweltering Los Angeles sun.

As soon as he sensed this act of kindness, he began to relax, realizing he was now in a safer environment.

The team from Hope For Paws transported him to a veterinarian for a medical check-up, following which he was placed in a foster home to assist him in readjusting to life with humans once again.

It’s evident that the psychological scars will take some time to heal, but he is doing well.

Though he doesn’t have a formal name yet, I am confident this charming German Sheppie will soon find a new family to envelop him in love and care.
